6. Support yes, not sure I could participate
I am starting a new job for an Ambulance company in the IT dept, and they rely on us to keep their gps working, call center, etc and so on. As far as the job I am quiting to take it, yes I would (even if I was not quitting).

7. Only if I could be assured of not being fired. But seriously, many can't afford to lose their jobs
I could risk it; others can't. Just look at the movie Matewan. It wasn't much different in the olden days. Corporate power can get you killed. Luther Blessit activism underground can do the unseen powers more damage. If everybody knows the Emperor has no clothes then change is possible. The wealthy are insulated by those dollar bills and other commercial paper. Let the market tank, due to their own greed. Of course the poorer will be hit hard, but we've got a lot less far to fall.

10. Well, I'm a parasite these days
while I wait for my vision to improve, but were I working, HELL YES, at least partially.

It's a thorny issue for people like nurses who would be risking the lives of other people were they to walk off the job en masse. There aren't enough suits to care for a hospital full of sick folks.

13. Been trying to instigate one since the SCOTUS appointed chimpy head
of state.

Apathetic, milquetoast Americans pissed me off so much after chimpy was appointed I had to leave the country to keep from puking myself to death.

Now I realize that most folks didn't really "get it" at the time.

They definitely "get it" now - so there is no longer any excuse.

Shut the country down if that is what it takes to stop fascism.

14. Yes, if it were properly formed, organized, and wide-spread enough
I can't help but think back to right before the American 'shock-and-awe' attack on Iraq....

A large part of the WORLD got out to protest against this upcoming action against Iraq (including me) This was the ONLY time in my life I've ever gotten out there to protest, so far. I wanted to get out there and stop the amurikan government BEFORE they let the 'genie out of the bottle'. There were 'strange/intimidating' people there who took our pictures with big long camera lenses.

I found my picture online protesting that day. There were 400 or so principled people who showed up that day in the little corner of the world in which we were voicing our opinions....we had lots of *honks* from people who drove past who supported our view, but didn't stop/didn't participate. I wonder how they're 'doing' now, these five years later. Gee, I hope they're not among the 1,200 people in my town whose homes are in foreclosure or 'pre-foreclosure' b/c partly b/c amurika has spent 3 TRILLION dollars on the Iraq 'war' so far in these past 6 years.....

A large part of the WORLD got out that infamous day. From wikipedia:

There have been considerable protests against the Iraq War in the buildup to and following the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Between 2002 and 2005, protests were held in many cities worldwide, often coordinated to occur simultaneously around the world. After the biggest series of demonstrations, on February 15, 2003, New York Times writer Patrick Tyler claimed that they showed that there were two superpowers on the planet, the United States and worldwide public opinion.<1>

Who has pics of the people all over the US and Europe and Asia....the Brandenburg Gate, San Francisco, New York.......don't forget ALL THOSE PEOPLE who cared enough to SHOW UP and not support this 'war'. There were/ARE MILLIONS (Billions) of 'us'. You KNOW those people haven't reversed their opinion and support it now when they didn't support it then!

Why aren't our voices being heard? Why do we protest in vain? Why don't our 'leaders' care anymore (did they ever?) what the people want? Why don't the 'officials' work for the common 'good'?

18. Well...it's One, Two, Three, what are we striking for?
Strike in support of, or against, what?

I hate to say it, but they couldn't get critical mass on the mall when "The Number" hit four grand. I don't think people are going to go out of work with bills to pay, in this environment....

19. What are we striking for?
To end the Iraq War? Then, yes, I would.

To insist on single-payer health care? Yes.

For a living wage for all Americans? Yes.

To insist that our elections be fair and all votes be counted? Yes

To make the paparazzi leave Brittany alone? No.
