Let's give Clinton and Obama an incentive for Democrats to win the General Election |
|
People who say "I'm not going to vote if my candidate is nominated" have it all wrong. We shouldn't be holding the party and our country accountable, we should be holding the candidates accountable.
What we need is a contract between our candidates and the American People, as well the Democrats who are working hard to see a Democrat in the White House.
We need this because we can win, we need to win, and if we don't win then it isn't simply because McCain got more votes, it'll probably be traced back to the horrible infighting we've had this primary season.
McSameasBush should be easy to beat, it's the infighting that's posing difficulties.
Basically, what the Contract would entail is this:
If either of the Democratic candidates lose the Presidential Election in November, then Barack Obama would forfeit his position as chairman of the Subcommittee on European Affairs, and Hillary Clinton would forfeit her position as chairwoman of Subcommittee on Superfund and Environmental Health.
Yes, we're in a primary, but it's time to think about the General Election (Which is why I posted this in the General Discussion rather than GD:P), basically we have to remind the candidates that we can NOT lose to John McCain.

No more!!!!!!! Time to run against John McCain They are both patently digusting to me. Hillary lieing, and Obama behaving like the slimy politcian he says he's not. Enough already. That goes for both sides in these remaining primaries.
