Misspeak ? I could not find it in the dictionary.
Does they just created a new word to avoid the other word ? What do they call that word eh eh.... Lied.

1. I'm glad to see someone else is paying attention to what's going on with the language
Misspeak? Maybe the word we should be thinking about is "Newspeak".

Its deeper than just this one word though, there has been a whole new degradation of the language and it seems to me that its now going far deeper than Orwell even imagined. It really scares me, much more than the immediate political events of the day or even the 'long term' problems we face.

thousands of things that never happened, as Mark Twain said) always had an official apologist hovering in the wings, ready to take the microphone as soon as RR left the podium, and announce "The President misspoke when he said.....so I wish to clarify......"
