I was just watching a basketball game in the March Madness and one of the players, a young man about 20, wanted his father to be able to see him play but he had been in prison. He may get to see him play int he Final Four since Carolina won tonight.

Give him all the love and support that you can -- as I know you will. Life on the outside can be difficult after incarceration, I know from experience with my ex-husband. Tell your son that he MUST mind his P's and Q's because they WILL be on him. Does he have much time on paper?

sneeze wrong and they'll violate you and slap you back in for what used to be a year and is now 18 months. prison is a growth industry in this country these days. kinda like a cost plus contract.

27. They lock up your body, and if you're lucky and smart, you learn stuff. But they

can never take away your real freedom. He will have some version of ptsd, be ready for that. It is a big adjustment to be out, even if it's been a short stint. Lots of love and rest and patience and encouragement. That which is well and strong in him can prevail.
