9. No you don't...
You have to plug in your printer to print your pictures not to "develop" them. Developing pictures is a chemical process used for film or prints made on photographic paper from negatives.

Again digital images are not "developed".

But more to the point you are trying to make, the amount of electricity required to view and transmit these images digitally is far less than the amounts NOT used in just one hour of turning out all those city lights.

Now how much electricity have you used up making your point?

12. Consider switching from that to a 19W fluorescent
If you use that lamp an average of 5 hours per day, it'll save you nearly 150 kilowatts per year.

:hi:

13. First I have to replace all the electrical
and before that, a lot of other stuff. Overall I'm pretty conservative with my electricity usage.

17. Replace all the electrical to screw in a CFL? - I don't get it.
.
.
.

CFL = Compact Fluorescent Light.

Mine are all 9 watts, and one 9 watt over my computer desk is more than enough.

I've got a total of around 10 fixtures

So if I leave them ALL on, it is only 100 watts.

And that would have to be one hell of a printer to negate a savings of 264 Megawatts

Someone is missing something here.

18. Neither does that poster get it!
I have CFLs in all but a few lamps in my house and one of those is an outdoor floodlight on a motion sensor that came with bulbs. It is only on for 1 minute at a time and as soon as they burn out CFLs will replace them.

Earth Hour - North America

Earth Hour 2008 was a remarkable global event, and in towns and cities across America people "turned out" to lend their voice to the worldwide call for action on climate change.

On March 29th, people everywhere turned off their lights–to make a statement, to help find new ways to reduce their impact on the environment, and to start a movement that ends with a solution to the common challenge we all face.

Millions of Americans–in Chicago, Atlanta, Phoenix, San Francisco and dozens of other communities large and small–joined mayors, citizens' groups, schools and corporations from coast to coast. Around the globe, people on five continents took part, from Albania to Zimbabwe, Bosnia to Uzbekistan, Canada to Uruguay.
