Sacha Baron Cohen sparks outrage in Kansas filming his latest movie, "Bruno"
Sacha Baron Cohen sparks outrage in Kansas filming his latest movie, "Bruno," a mockumentary about a gay Austrian TV presenter

British funnyman Sacha Baron Cohen has sparked outrage in Kansas by stripping down to a pair of hotpants and terrorizing locals.

The actor is currently filming his latest movie, "Bruno," a mockumentary about a gay Austrian TV presenter, and gathering footage of his interaction with locals.

But the oddball character's outrageous dress sense has not gone down too well with some Kansans and local newspapers have reported that a "European man" was "putting security on red alert" by "stripping down to tight shorts and dancing in the lobby of Wichita Airport."

And the high jinx didn't ended there -- Cohen and his crew are reported to have disrupted an Easter play at a Kansas church by turning up in "chains."

1. Sacha has got to have some cajones to try to dupe Middle America AGAIN
after Borat. Wasn't there a couple of lawsuits filed against him? The drunken college kids didn't like the way they were represented.

Here's hoping someone doesn't call Homeland Security and has Sacha "disappeared" from Kansas. :rofl:

2. It obviously doesn't take THAT much to dupe 'em...
seeing as how both Borat and Bruno had been characters on cable TV for a good bit of time before their films began production.

Cohen brings sexy time to Kansas airport
Sunday Mar 30 12:00 AEDT

By ninemsn staff

<snip>

A video posted on YouTube, claiming to be amateur footage of the incident, appears to show Cohen dressed in a bright blue vest and hat, shaking his hips in a suggestive manner with an unidentified offsider.

<snip>

Cohen's film crew reportedly then stirred up chaos at a Kansas church by posing as a European documentary crew and attempting to infiltrate a parish play.

The crew, which included one man dressed "biblically" and draped with chains, tried to block the church's security cameras before they were exposed and ejected, according to pastor Clint Dunn.

Other reports claimed Cohen tricked actor Ben Affleck into participating in a bogus interview with "Bruno" on Thursday night.

Sasha Baron Cohen annoys mid-westerners again

English actor and comic chameleon Sasha Baron Cohen has found more pockets of America that aren't "in" on the joke.

Cohen made a ruckus of the Wichita, Kansas airport recently as he was filming scenes for his latest movie in character as his gay Austrian named Bruno.

he flamboyantly gay Austrian TV host and fashion expert Bruno caused havoc at the Wichita Airport when he stripped down to tight shorts and began kissing, dancing and fighting in the lobby.

Most, if not all of the people at the Kansas airport were unaware it was for the movie, yet the airport did authorize filming permits and permission to film inside the airport.

Here is a random passerby's YouTube snippet of the action:

Sacha Baron Cohen's Bruno Nails Ben Affleck

So it appears as if Sacha Baron Cohen is still causing quite the mess here in the United States as his alter-ego Brüno; getting kicked out of airports, showing up to an Easter play at a church in Kansas wearing chains, and the list goes on. First off, for those not familiar with Brüno, he's a gay Austrian fashion reporter who's wildly flamboyant in every way. The film, which marks Cohen's follow-up to Borat, will be called (deep breath) ... Brüno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Males Visibly Uncomfortable in the Presence of a Gay Foreigner in a Mesh T-Shirt. Needless to say, I cannot wait to hear my local news coughing up that title when it comes time for the weekend box office figures.

But back to Ben Affleck. Seems Mike Walker from the National Enquirer called into Howard Stern last week saying that Affleck called friend Sarah Silverman following an interview with Brüno. Affleck was told Brüno was a "very famous openly gay fashion journalist," but that didn't stop Ben from admitting it was "the weirdest sit-down he has ever had with a reporter." Eventually, Silverman coughed up his name and only then did Ben realize he'd been had. Part of me doesn't believe this at all, because I can only imagine the hoops one would need to jump through in order to get an actual sit-down interview with Ben Affleck. Then again, perhaps Cohen's crew have perfected their little joke by now. Either way, I'm sure Affleck will be making an appearance in the film.

For more, as well as a brief video of Brüno's crew dancing in an airport, head over to Slashfilm.

4. We can only imagine what he'll have in this film
The naked fight scene between Borat and his producer is seared into my head forever. :rofl: Wonder if he's going to try to top that?

6. Will this be offensive to gays?
Or will Bruno poke fun at homophobics?

7. Bruno will poke fun at homopohobics, but will probably offend gays in the process.
There will be a huge debate in the media, as well as a flame-war on DU.

The streets will run with blood and nazis will once again be riding dinosaurs.
