AAR issues this morning
Is something going on with AAR this morning. I cannot access the website and the flagship WWRL is carrying something other than the Lionel show this morning.

WWRL, the NYC flagship station announced a new M-F line-up which has dropped Lionel and Thom Hartman and David Green's Clout program.

9. A play on an earlier post
by a DU'er who thinks right wing radio host, Neal Boortz, was suspended. It would appear he was wrong. Boortz has called him on it on the radio, saying that he would pay the guy $25,000 if he could prove it.

Lots of others have chimed in saying he should show Boortz the proof and get the money.

10. Umm, now the Al Sharpton show is on WWRL... hoo boy...
Edited on Mon Mar-31-08 07:37 PM by PBass
Yeah Al Sharpton might be a better radio host than Richard Greene, but that's some faint praise. I don't think Sharpton is all bad, but he certainly isn't all good either. Remember how he played spoiler (dissing the Democratic field) during the last Democratic presidential primary? His campaign was funded by GOP dirty trickster Roger Stone, the same guy who organized shutting down the ballot count in Florida in 2000. I don't think of Sharpton as a purely positive force for Liberal politics.

-So Lionel is off the air in the morning (that could be described as progress... Lionel was a more long-winded version of Springer... but kind of a lightweight, when it comes to political talk)
-Thom Hartmann is switched for Ed Schultz (Thom's website says that WWRL owns the Ed Schultz show, and AAR will try to find a different NYC station for Thom)
-Al Sharpton has a daily show

And this:

WWRL always has Neil Cavuto (Fox News) giving a "business report" every day at 4:50... very weird to hear a Fox News host on WWRL, during Air America programming (Randi Rhodes show).

WWRL only plays an hour of Sam Seder's three hour Sunday show (they run bizarre vitamin supplement infomercials all day on Saturday and Sunday days, and after 1:00 am weeknights).

Alan Colmes (Fox News) has a show from 10pm to 1:00am, 5 days a week. I always thought Lefties exaggerated how bad he was, until I heard him dismiss the FISA fight as "boring" and went back to blathering about Obama's minister. Colmes usually spends his show talking about the Right Wing talking points - yeah, he says they are wrong, but he's just giving those ideas even more air time, instead of talking about Liberal issues.

In short, Air America's flagship station stinks.
