Products made anywhere else but China
After looking for some headphones for my computer and not being able to find any that were NOT made in China I just gave up rather than buy. I don't mind spending a little extra money to get a decent product as I am tired of buying Chinese products that start self-destructing the minute I get home.
Does anyone know of a good resource out there for well-made products?

1. I avoid china made products at all costs. Like YOU, I'd rather go without.

2. I Thought It Might Be Only Me
But my phobia mainly concerns food products and other items that come in contact with food, drink, children's mouths...anything that might be consumed or absorbed. I've gotten to where in reading labels, if it says anything about China, I just don't buy.

3. Yes, it is hard to find electronic products not made in China or other than the U.S.
When I was growing up a product that was labeled Made in Japanwas consider to be junk. Times change. Eliminate everything in your home that is made in China and in particular anything that is not made in the U.S. and you will not be left with much. I frequently see at my supermarket frozen fresh fish that are a product of China as well as canned goods such as peaches. Many times there is not choice if you want the product and it is made in China, especially for the poor in this country.

5. I knew Germany would come through!
Thank you so much. I even found a dealer relatively near to me. And now I'm going to print out a page from their website and give it to our local RadioShack (yeh sure, like they care) and local computer store and tell them I would have bought from them if they had given me a decent choice of products.
So there!

9. Pssst...
There are China made products in your computer and monitor! Maybe best if you should remove them before they blow up in your face eh?

14. Oh yes, let's just surrender to it
It's too much trouble/expense to buy non-Chinese merchandise when practicable.

:sarcasm:

btw, I bought two flatscreen computer monitors in the past few years that stopped working within 12 months. Cheap, cheerful and Chinese costs us more in the long run than laying out more money for a quality product that lasts. I won't be making that mistake again.
