Maliki Offensive HUGE Disaster
funny, we don't see that headline

cause not only did the maliki offensive fail, but to get the cease fire the government now has to release detainees and give amnesty to sadrs fighters.

here's the actual headline - Sadr Tells His Militia To Cease Hostilities

BAGHDAD, March 31 -- Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr ordered his followers Sunday to lay down their arms and end six days of clashes against U.S. and Iraqi forces if the government agrees to release detainees and give amnesty to Sadr's fighters, among other demands. But after the statement, mortar attacks continued in Baghdad and Basra, and violence persisted in many pockets of the country.

1. We offer The Surge. Maliki offers The Vacuum.

2. It makes me wonder if Sadr had been bought off.
His followers were having a lot of success and I heard on the radio that upon hearing his order for them to lay down their arms many were crying, "Sadr in no longer a soldier". Maybe they think he has sold them out.

3. I think Sadr see's the Iraqi government as an American puppet regime.
That's basically how Saddam got his start. Then he got off his leash.
