BREAKING NEWS: Five People are Stupider than John McCain
McCain went to the Naval Academy at Annapolis, where he managed to finish 894th out of 899 in his graduating class. Can you imagine what pack of gibbering dumbfucks those other five guys must be?

Of course McCain is the son and grandson for Naval Admirals. His grandfather finished 79th out of 116 in the class of 1906. According to biographer Robert Timberg, McCain's father finished worse than that in 1931, but doesn't give the actual numbers.

John McCain is the third generation of slack-jawed idiots who clawed their way up the chain of command.

And for this he should be President?

3. What do you call a person who comes in last at West Point or Annapolis or AF Academy?

Sir! (Or Ma'am)

4. The GOP is stuck on stupid
because stupid reliably does what it is instructed to do by the richest thieves out there.

The last thing they want is a president who will actually try to run things. The last one of those was Nixon, and we all know how he worked out for them.

Another decent military man who went on to be a godawful president.

bottom half of his class, but he did not anchor the class.

7. I hate to nitpick, but that only means that 5 people -WERE- stupider than McCain.
We shouldn't assume that all five of them have stumbled
through the last decades without learning a damned thing,
the way he has.

Odds are, some of those five are smarter than he is by now.

22. Except he bumped someone else and finished 5th from the bottom...
If he used the opportunity and shined in his class, that would be one thing. But he displaced another candidate and
finished poorly. Quite sad.

26. And he was allowed to be a pilot...
even though he was patently unqualified for flight duty. THAT would be the fault of McCain's daddy who pulled strings on his son's behalf. Bear in mind that McCain lost FOUR aircraft due to accidents and negligence. He also lost a fifth, but that was not through any fault of his own. The point here is that John McCain cost the United States government millions in destroyed military hardware.

28. The fifth aircraft loss is at least partially his fault;
He allowed himself to be shot down by the air defense forces of a third-world country, for Pete's sake. You almost have to work at that...

The Soviet-made SA-2 Guideline Surface-to-Air missile is known popularly as the "flying telephone pole", 'cause that's what it looks like. It's like trying to outrun an oncoming glacier.

29. I wasn't thinking about that one...
I was referring to the Forrestal Indicent, where McCain aircraft does appear to have been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

With regard to his being shot down, U.S. aircraft suffered .4 losses per 1,000 sorties in Vietnam, as opposed to 9.7 losses per 1,000 sorties in World War II. And bear in mind that these ratio's are based on a total of 2,251 aircraft lost. That figure includes 514 that were due to mechanical failures and another 110 that were helicopters (a different type of combat, to be sure, compared to an F-4).

On any mission, getting shot down is NOT an acceptable outcome.

3. Dick Cheney
4. Lynne Cheney (see #2)

and I think even McCain commented on it, noting his partying, womanizing, self-entitlement days. He almost didn't get to become a Navy pilot.

20. But only McCain has the distinction of putting one of our own aircraft carriers out of commission ..

... WHILE IN A COMBAT ZONE no less!!!

Ya gotta hand it to him. That was quite an achievement. While the other pilots went after the enemy, McCain decided to go after one of our own carriers. Must be why they call him a mustang. He sure does march to the beat of a different drummer.

  :patriot:

39. you are right, just look at how he knows nothing about the economy even if he
has been in congress all these years where he should have gained knowledge and experience on these issues.

they may be a hero when it comes to serving in war and putting their life at risk. but that doesn't have anything to do with being President. as they said about John Kerry in which case he was intelligent and actually had knowledge and experience outside of his war service unlike McCain.
