Oklahoma conservative PAC email to supporters about Kern rally

(For folks tired of reading about Kern, scroll past; I happen to think that hate by lawmakers in Red State America is extremely important to keep an eye on.)

The hard right fundies in Oklahoma are foaming at the mouth over the wonderful exposure of the bigotry of State Rep. Sally Kern. One must wonder why they are so concerned about Kern speaking her "truth" and dealing with the consequences.

The LGBT community welcomes Kern to speak out as often as she can -- speak from your homo-hating heart, Sally! You're educating a lot of people about how far we need to go to achieve civil equality when there are people elected to serve all of the people deem them worse than terrorism and a threat to the nation.

I've obtained an action memo from her friends at the Oklahoma Conservative Political Action Committee. Supporters of the lawmaker plan to show up at the State Capitol to participate in the "Rally for Sally" (it will be held at noon in on the first floor rotunda, for those of you in the area who wish to politely counter protest).

From the OCPAC e-mail to supporters:

SALLY KERN UPDATE

...Thursday a few liberal clergy (I prefer to call them false prophets) showed up at Representative Kern's office with tape recorder in hand. Of course they were wanting Kern to apologize for her statements. The phoney clergy claimed Kern's remarks were hurtful. Folks this is a bunch of BS (blue smoke). These people aren't hurt by Kern's statements, they want to destroy anyone who speaks out about the perversion of homosexuality. They want to destroy Representative Kern and make an example of her. They want to send a message that anyone who would dare to speak out about their political agenda or lifestyle would get the "Kern treatment."

It continues below the fold.

Representative Kern had been asked to speak to the College Republicans at UCO on Thursday night. The homosexual supporters were there to harass her. One report I received, a couple of hours ago, by some Kern supporters who were present was that Sally took the high ground as she always does, didn't back down and simply spoke truth in love. The local NBC affiliate (channel 4) covered the event and allowed Kern to correct a couple of the vicious lies that the homosexuals have spread about Sally and her family. To their credit, channel 4 indicated they had never reported the false allegations in any of their previous reports. (NOTE FROM PAM: View the video and decide for yourself if Kern is telling the truth..)

It is obvious the agenda of the homosexual community and their liberal friends is to make life hell for Sally Kern, it is becoming the definition of harassment. This is getting ready to backfire upon the homosexuals as this is Oklahoma, not a homosexual infested liberal enclave like some parts of the United States.

The Christians in Oklahoma are beginning to be awakened to the hatred of the homosexual community and I predict the good and decent people of Oklahoma will turn out at the ballot box this November to send a strong message for decency. If they do, Sally will be re-elected by a landslide (she drew a Democrat opponent this week). We will also see defeats for Jim Roth, the radical homosexual Corporation Commissioner (also a Democrat and recently appointed by Democrat Governor Henry) and the ultra liberal Democrat State Senator Andrew Rice who is running against Republican U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe.

Rice is not a homosexual, but he is expected to receive a good deal of support from that community, probably because he produced a documentary on the tragedy of the homosexual disease AIDS. This is a disease that used to be called GRIDS (Gay Related Imuno Deficiency Syndrome) before political correctness set in and they changed the name to AIDS.

Representative Sally Kern deserves the support from the decent people of Oklahoma for her truthfulness and bravery in the face of such an onslaught of hate and death threats. I hope everyone will make your best effort to attend the "Rally for Sally."

I'm not sure what there is to backfire, folks. Decent people around the country have reacted to Kern's heinous comments and responded -- and they are not all LGBT. She met with P-FLAG; these are people who are parents of friends of the people you deem a threat to society. When confronted with those who care about the people in their lives, Kern's pettiness and clear lack of Christian values -- something irrelevant to her role as an elected official, by the way -- was exposed.
Members of OCPAC, I'm sorry that this public ordeal for you is a wakeup call that there are LGBT tax paying citizens in your state that are tired of being vilified by legislators who are so filled with bigotry that they are proud to state it. To complain that anyone is curbing Mrs. Kern from speaking her mind is ludicrous. That she believes she is entitled to consequence-free, anti-gay verbal diarrhea is her mistake.

Wow. Where to begin with this one? If I wasn't already cranky stuck at home with 'pink eye', I would be now after reading this fund raising letter.

2. Andrew Rice is slowly gaining on Inhofe, and
Jim Roth is an INCREDIBLE elected official. I don't anyone who doesn't think he is great, and that includes a lot of conservatives.

Unfortunately, there will always be people in Oklahoma who support this kind of "morality" crap. We're now battling the conservatives to keep them from putting up a freakin' fence around the state to keep anyone who doesn't share their beliefs (or their color) from getting in. It's pretty bad here right now. The bigots are coming out of the woodwork.
