Randi was lauded for her "in your face" style when she first
hit the airwaves at the national level.

But lots of us have been noticing (for quite some time now) that
she's been going overboard with it.

I think she's wandered astray into some "focus group" mentality,
and is concentrating too much on seeking opportunistic "smackdown moments"
while giving short shrift to the SUBSTANCE that used to be the
rock-solid foundation of her presentations.

It's a shame to see it happening- she's got a brain like a steel trap,
and she can work "without a net"; any FReeper who's dumb enough to call
in gets buried under a landslide of FACTS: Names, dates, places, accurate
verbatim QUOTES, all off the top of her head. No notes necessary- just
her brain, her voice, and a microphone.

It was the BEST, once upon a time. BS met truth, and BS withered and fell...

But lately, it seems like she's bought into the idea that "smackdowns=ratings=$$$",
and is creating smackdowns for their own sake.

She's wandered off the path of TRUTH, and is on the gentle slippery slope
that leads towards her becoming the next "Jerry Springer".

36. First Bernie Ward, and Now Randi Rhodes..

Ever since Bernie Ward got arrested I have had the wind let out of my sail about Radio talk show hosts. These libs used to be my idols. Sports figures haven't done it for me, nor political leaders..but the talk show hosts were my talking pieces and have kept me sane for the past 7 years. That all ended when Bernie Ward fell from grace. Ray Taliaferro is so consumed by Obama that he makes me sick. He criticizes Hillary every breath and so does another former fave in Stephanie Miller. You see.. They don't realize that they are cutting off their nose to spite their face. They may be happy That their guy is winning but they are helping to ruin two great Democrats in Bill and Hillary. We needed them in the 90's and no doubt will need them again. And all of their supporters as well in the fall. Randi fits the same group. She has gotten that same negativity. I can't stand it anymore. So I am staying with the two who have remained neutral throughout: Thom Hartman and Guy James. Two of The best in the business.

I have noticed that the biggest assholes seem to be the most "popular" on the radio(or maybe they are just forced on us)
