A third American war in the making?

The US Congress, the US media, the American people, and the United Nations, are looking the other way as Cheney prepares his attack on Iran.

If only America had an independent media and an opposition party. If there were a shred of integrity left in American political life, perhaps a third act of naked aggression--a third war crime under the Nuremberg standard--by the Bush Regime could be prevented.

On March 30, the Russian News & Information Agency, Novosti, cited "a high-ranking security source: "The latest military intelligence data point to heightened US military preparations for both an air and ground operation against Iran."

According to Novosti, Russian Colonel General Leonid Ivashov said "that the Pentagon is planning to deliver a massive air strike on Iran's military infrastructure in the near future."

3. Certainly a war like this will devastate the American people and there economy...

further than it already is. I don't think that McCain would have to worry about whether it helps him or not, cause the current Administration would have what they need to stay in power.

2. We have been talking about this it seems for so long on DU and I absolutely...

believe that an attack is enevitable... Just a matter of when! I think it will come before November, and for sure before January 20, 2009... This Administration can not afford a Barack Obama Presidency and thats all there is to it.

Cheney will also be responsible for the slaughter of soldiers in Iraq. millions of Iranians would not be stopped by such an attack. where would their closest point of retaliation be?

not only that, but we would become a pariah nation, along with Israel.

Congress should hold a session and go on record about this potential attack. let those who support it go on record so that they can be included in war crimes trials. not that our nation would be the one with the moral fortitude to hold trials, but other nations will have to when charges are brought - if those people ever set foot in one of those nations that honor int'l human rights agreements.

Though even better would be to see the police and/or military police enforce the treaties of this land. I'd be very happy to watch as Cheney is led out of the vp mansion in handcuffs, put onto a helicopter and held in prison until trial.
