Value of Middle East's toy market put at Dh5.5b

Dubai: The average yearly toy expenditure has shot up to Dh1,200 ($327) per child in the Middle East, second only to North America, according to an industry report.

The value of the Middle East toy market is estimated at Dh5.5 billion with 11.8 per cent annual growth.

Shaikh Hasher Maktoum, Dubai Director of Information, yesterday inaugurated the Middle East Toy Fair, the largest exhibition of its kind in the region, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The exhibition, organised by Epoc Messe Frankfurt, has gathered 120 exhibitors from 23 countries.

"The value of the Middle East toy market is estimated at Dh5.5 billion with about 11.8 per cent annual growth," said Eckhard Pruy, chief executive officer of Epoc Messe Frankfurt.

wonder what these kids are going to say when they older. We tell ourselves lies by saying, "we are doing it for their own good" but I don't see how this is possible. I can't even image the nightmares these kids have.
