Anyone else just see Chuck Hagel working to preserve his Senate seat on TDS? |

3. I'd laugh if, if Obama won the nom, he asked Hagel to be his VP. |
|
All this "unity" bullshit has to be coming from somewhere, after all.

7. NOT VP! I like Hagel on some issues BUT |
|
not a heartbeat away from the presidency. He's too consevative on many issues.
How about Secretary of Defense? I think he'd shine there.

9. Obama's pretty conservative too--he just doesn't show it. |
|
I don't know if he'd want SECDEF. Who knows, though?

6. It must be difficult for these people |
|
to publicly come out and criticize their friends.
Those who've been in the Senate for a number of years have forged friendships.
I think that about those who have endorsed a candidate, too.
As others have said, Hagel isn't running for re-election, but he's had this stance for some time now. Takes guts to go against the party line.
