OMG, I'm still fuming over what just happened to me this morning.

I took my daughter to school this morning, just like every morning. Today is my day off, and I always make dinner for my wife and my daughter, and I needed to pick up a gallon of milk. I stopped at a store called "Flash Foods" near my home. It's one of those stores with the gas pumps out front. If you live in Georgia, you know what I'm talking about.

Anyway, when I went inside the store, I noticed a older woman (she looked like she was close to 80) looking at me as I went to the back of the store to get the milk. I said "hi" to her, and she nodded back, and I got the milk and started to the front to pay for it, when this woman stopped me and asked me my name. I told her, and she looked like she was going to cry. I asked her if she was all right.

She said, "yes, I'm OK. It's just that you look just like my son that was killed in Vietnam 40 years ago." At that point, I got a little choked up and told her that I was sorry. She said, "that's OK, but could you do me a favor?" I asked, "what kind of favor?" She said that as she left the store she wanted me to call out loud to her, "Bye, Mom."

I told her that I didn't know if I should do that, but she started tearing up again, so I told her I would. She started toward the door, and as she got to it I said, "Bye, Mom." And, she turned around and said, "See you later, son."

Well, I'm choked up as I go to pay for my milk. The cashier behind the counter says to me, "That'll be $73 dollars" and whatever cents. And, I said, "For a gallon of milk?" The cashier said, "well, your mother said that you would pay for hers, too."

Man, was I pissed. I told the cashier, hold a minute, and I left my milk at the counter, and ran outside where I saw the woman getting in her car to leave. I ran over to her and started pulling on her leg, just like I'm pulling on yours.
