Sad news: Eleanor Mondale reported at the end of February that her brain cancer has returned. I couldn't find any stories on DU about it, so I'm posting this now.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) ― Eleanor Mondale, the daughter of former Vice President Walter Mondale, said her brain cancer has returned.

Eleanor Mondale made the announcement Thursday on WCCO Radio.

Eleanor Mondale had a cancerous brain tumor in 2005. She chose chemotherapy and radiation to treat the tumor, instead of surgery. The once-baseball-sized tumor virtually disappeared.

The tumor is in the same place as her original tumor. Eleanor Mondale stressed the tumor is much, much smaller than her original tumor.

2. Slightly OT, but I heard an alarming story this a.m. about cell phones and brain cancer..

there is a doctor out there who has done a study that indicates that the connection is real, it just takes up to 10 years for it to show up, so he feels we will soon be seeing an epidemic of this. He feels it's a bigger health issue than smoking potentially.

Sorry to hear about Ms. Mondale.

5. I saw that too.

I sent it to my kids and sister who use cell phones, exclusively and don't have land lines. I think there may be something to it. I've also heard about some kind of thing you stick on your cell phone that deters the EMF. Anyone hear about that?
