Lima Man Pleads Guilty To Drug Charges In Deadly SWAT Raid
Lima Man Pleads Guilty To Drug Charges In Deadly SWAT Raid

Tuesday, Apr 01, 2008 - 09:59 AM

LIMA, Ohio -- A Lima man has pleaded guilty to drug charges that stemmed from a raid in January that turned tragic when a city police officer shot and killed a woman who was holding a child.

Anthony Terry was the target of that raid. He pleaded guilty Monday to drug trafficking charges that could put him in prison for up to 13 years.

A Lima police officer is charged with negligent homicide in the shooting death of Terry's girlfriend Tarika Wilson.

Wilson's family members say she was an unarmed, innocent bystander caught in the middle of the SWAT raid.

1. There is no reason why this woman and child are dead.
Unfortunately the office will probably walk.

2. SWAT-style raids kill innocent people far too often.
And SWAT-style raids are used FAR too often in situations where this jackbooted no-knock shit is simply not warranted. OK, so the guy is wanted for drug charges. Wait outside the house and nab him when he exits. What possible harm did the goddamned storm troopers think would come from waiting to arrest him under less insanely dangerous circumstances? Or where they hoping for a kill and not an arrest? Looks like they got one. Hope the guilty piggy likes his stint in prison. And I hope whoever authorized the unnecessary SWAT-style raid is seeking non-police employment at this juncture.

4. The small-time drug peddlar is looking at 13 years.
The killer cop has been charged with two misdemeanors and is looking at eight months.

What's wrong with this picture?

5. i don't understand why the drug seller was not charged with manslaughter
in some jurisdictions the drug seller would be the one charged with manslaughter, not the police officer who would never have had to draw a weapon if the drug seller had not been engaged in a felony

as far as the woman being an innocent bystander, that's the laugh of the century, it's apparent that she's the girlfriend of the drug seller and knew exactly where the $$$ was coming from to raise the child, sorry, that's the chance you take when you move in with a drug seller, there is no law on the books saying the dealers only destroy other people's lives and families

7. There is so much wrong with that post I don't know where to begin
BTW are you working and paying taxes for this war? if so, then in the eyes of others you are just as guilty as bush and crew for what is going on in Iraq.

You are, in a a sense, the girlfriend of the drug dealer :)

9. Police officer never would have had to draw a weapon if
we didn't pay them to fight in the so called war on drugs.
