Just saw Frontline - Bad Voodoo's War
about a National Guard unit in Iraq. They're just driving around all day, guarding convoys, waiting to get hit. It's very intense. It's very insane. We need to get the fuck out of that country as soon as possible. Or at least get the fucking National Guard out. Love the part where KBR keeps the unit stranded in 130 degree heat for 8 hours and never shows up to fix their damaged vehicle. Please check this out.

You can watch the video online:

The show is a somber reminder about how important the Iraq War still is and how important it is to KEEP JOHN MCCAIN OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE.

OK, now go back to your normal BS in GD-P. Another IED just went off in Iraq somewhere.

1. Little has changed since Vietnam ...

Except there are roads in the concrete jungle. Instead of humping it on patrol waiting to get jumped, they drive.

3. I knew if I watched I'd get both pissed off and depressed.
I was right on both counts.

4. I think that explains why the Iraq movies, like Stop Loss
and In the Valley of Elah don't do well at the Box Office. They're downers.

5. This is true.
I make myself watch things like this, if for no other reason than to keep myself at least somewhat grounded in reality.

7. What bothered me more, much more, was how they had to rely on contractors for backup
And the contractors did not show up.
