WOW..First 3rd graders now 5th graders plotting against a teacher?
Just saw on MSNBC that a group of 5th graders plotted to put tylenol in their teachers' drink to make him/her sick!

WHAT THE HELL?

2. pshaw, that ain't nothing
in sixth grade, someone in my class dosed a teacher with acid. (that someone was no longer a student the next day, I believe she spent some time as a guest of the State of Ohio)

you just hear about this type of thing now because the media picks it up and hypes it. it's a bad thing, no doubt, but hardly new.

4. This plot doesn't bother me as much as the 3rd grader story did.
I remember when I was in grade school, there were several instances where the kids put exlax in the teacher's hot chocolate, or homemade fudge to get the teacher to take a day or two off. NO it wasn't right, but it didn't do any permament harm either. BTW, I'm 64yo. Stupid things like this have been going on for a LONG TIME!

6. What are teachers doing to the kids to elicit that kind of animosity?
Seriously, though, I wonder if the kids see and hear all the made-up terrorism bullshit on Fox and other media outlets, and then incorporate that into their play which for some becomes way too realistic.

8. That's what I wonder.

Teachers can be abusive - I remember some of them!

10. Why are parents failing to watch their kids
and teaching them not to be violent?

This road can go either direction sweetheart.

12. I don't know, maybe trying to teach
or asking students to be respectful and to do their work. My God, what the hell is going on here?

13. That was kind of where I was going with that....
But a few seemed to not notice the "Seriously, though..." which indicates that the previous remark was not so serious.

11. I didn't notice my son was watching cops (I was doing homework!)
and one day I got a call from his school that he had taken "a substance" to school in a baggie and that the police had been called. He was eight. :scared:

The substance turned out to be white sugar.

No more Cops at our house, no more TV unless I was within earshot.

It was funny but not funny at all!
