Last week, on my way to the Emergency Room due to a crazy EKG and chest pain,
I thought about my kids, first of all, and then about people I love and goals not yet achieved.
Then, under "Other Reasons to Live," I thought about the next election and how much I want to be around
to see the Democrats reclaim the country.
And the picture that came to mind was that of Barack Obama taking the Oath of Office, with the whole world
watching in awe.

I hope that day will come, and I hope I'm here to see it!

1. My dear hisownpetard...
I hope you are too, sweetie...

Were the doctors able to come up with a diagnosis?

I hope you're OK...

3. My dear CalPeg - Six EKGs later, and still no definitive diagnosis. Just a bunch of
crazy-looking graphs to wallpaper my office with and a lot of scary chest pains to keep me awake at night.

No pain at all for the last 2 days, though - so that's encouraging! I go to the cardiologist tomorrow a.m. and, hopefully, will learn more.

Thanks for the good wishes.

6. My mother had severe chest pains
and was in the hospital for five days.

They finally told her after at least five tests that it was from the decaffinated coffee that she drank that evening of the pains.

Praying for you, it is so hard waiting for the tests.

14. Yes! She is almost 89
and I was worried about her.

They were going to do an angioplasty and all kinds of other things.

When all the tests came back negative, they sent her to a Gastrologist.

That doctor did more tests and said for her to stay away from anything with caffeine and to rub her chest gently if it happened again.

Of course, I watch her closely because she is not able to determine the degree of pain that she experiences. She has memory problems most of the time.

She is as cute as a button.

4. I hope the Republican party is sent back to the stone age. Oh, wait...
they've never gotten out of it.

So I'll just hope that they're defeated in every township, city, county and state - driven back into the spider hole they crawled out of.

12. Thank you. The main reason I posted this was to say how, at such an unexpected point
in my life, the thought of a country on the way toward being healed seemed to help me
feel peace. Visualizing it just happened, and it felt great!

11. I hope so too--
Try this little energetic tip--

With the palm of your hand, about a couple of inches above your heart, slowly first *remove* the energy from your heart, by having the palm go counterclockwise (think of a clock facing outward from your chest, or a "screwing" motion, for about one minute. THEN, for about TWO MINUTES, place energy into your heart area, by moving the palm of your hand in a clockwise motion (like screwing energy back into the heart). Imagine all the colors of the rainbow, but particularly green, on this last part.

Repeat three times per day!

Just feels good. Hope you feel better.

16. what do you mean "crazy" ekg?
Abnormal? Or just odd-looking to you?

If nothing turns up, ask about costochondritis. It's an inflammation in the chest that can mimic cardiac trouble. A family member of mine was in the ER twice with heart attack symptoms and they finally diagnosed costochondritis.

each line was retraced upon itself. Hard to describe, but pretty disturbing looking.

Weird, but I'm feeling much better and am not as worried about it as when it first happened.

It's SPRING!

17. Hope you get better soon - my mom just went through a bit of this.
She ended up getting an angiogram, where they found a couple near-blockages in her coronary arteries, and they ended up putting in a stent.

Thankfully, that seems to have fixed the problem, and the problem was caught before it became something like a full blown heart attack - she's feeling much better now.
