I received this e-mail and I cannot believe it is true. I have done the snopes/factcheck thing, to no avail. Any help debunking this trash (or telling me it is true :cry:) will be greatly appreciated.

5. I have aways liked the Danish people I've known (more than a few) for their dry sense of humor

(even better than the British one, if you pay attention), and the Danes have done many other admirable things (sheltering Jews in WW2, going almost completely organic in their food business in the 1990s), but they DO seem to have a deep, dark streak of racism buried in their national character.

It's a damn shame to see such a group of (what I consider to be) wonderful people in general have such a tragic flaw in their character, but it does seem to be true.

Just my observation; your mileage may vary.

the publishing of the infamous "Danish cartoons" has hardened sentiment.

As in the U.S., there is great variation among the "regular" people--that is, some people are more welcoming than others. However, the Danish government has been worried for some time about people who marry Danes, presumably in the hopes of milking the system. Many bi-national couples have moved to Sweden, as a result.
