My brother shook Bill Clinton's hand yesterday....
In Great Falls, MT. :)

I tell you what, you know this primary season is crazy when Bill Clinton feels the need to campaign in MT. Hey I know this primary battle has been rough, but Bill Clinton is still effing Bill Clinton! My brother was pretty excited.

1. I hope he used a hand-sanitizer afterwards.
It's flu season.

8. Pretty good.
If you're shaking Bill Clinton's hand you're pretty much shaking hands with all of the people he's shaken hands with.

Yuk.

13. How endlessly, exquisitely petty.
And how jealous and angry you are that someone shook Bill's hand instead of spitting on it...as Obama supporters do daily on DU.

Rest easy. I'm SURE that YOU would have spit on it.

4. I don't blame him I 'd be proud to shake hands with him too. A
friend got to shake Hillary's hand when she was here and she was thrilled too. They are good people from the working class and haven't forgotten.

As an almost 60 year-old, he's 'got it'!

When I heard he was getting a divorce, I got all cheery and hopeful. I was 19. "It" defies time.

6. I've had drinks with him. Twice.
Just Bill, me, a bunch of SS guys and a homeless street musician (once).

And once at the bar at Wild Ginger in Seattle.

You can bounce right off the charismatic field that surrounds the guy.

12. Well....
We were sampling Ports at Wild Ginger (a great story, by the way, but I am too slow on the keyboard to type it). Then we had Bombay Sapphire Martinis.

Then I ran into him at Pike Street Market on Seattle's waterfront when I was playing some street guy's guitar. I heard this unmistakable voice behind me yell, "Hey! there's Tom", and Clinton asked me if I knew "Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out". Nailed it. Then he asked the homeless guy where we could go get a beer.

So the guy leads us to this dive. SS was freaking out. So we sat at the bar and drank terrible tap beer. Just me, Bill, and the homeless guy. We had a ball. The Homeless Guy kept saying, "Whoa, fuck, Bill Clinton".

I have the pictures somewhere.

20. I have no idea.
All that happened right after the 2000 Elections. He was there raising money for some Senator (Patty somebody, a pretty fine-looking woman if I remember correctly) who had financed her own campaign and then lost her ass in the dotcom deal.

Hell, she is the only acting Senator I have ever met (besides HRC, who I met as a pres candidate at a home here) and I couldn't remember her name.

Damn, this getting older thing has its own hurdles.

I shook his hand in Arlington, TX some weeks back. He gave me the classic double-pump hand shake and grabbed my forearm with his other hands and actually pulled me in a few inches closer to him.

I suppose if I was a younger person, I would have blogged about it. Instead, I simply bragged to all my co-workers :)

35. I met him 2 yrs ago and heard him speak. That man is a great speaker
He spoke to 3000 ppl at a show I was working. As he walked to the stage he stopped and said hello and shook all of the video tech's hands. Man when he took the stage he was great. It's like he's talking only to you. He got several standing O's.
