1. It seems they should raise their fees for trucking, not demand cheaper gas?

I don't think this is an industry we want to subsidize more than we already are, since rail's more efficient where possible?

I thought that was high but they are really hurting
with diesel in California almost at $4.70

4. Hops

Beer is up because the price of hops is up. Hops aren't used for anything but beer, and since the beer companies lowballed the price so much last year, there isn't as much that was grown this year.

Just another example of a culture that takes short term gains at the cost of its own long-term interests.
