bad republican ideas never die
President Bush won NATO's endorsement Thursday for his plan to build a missile defense system in Europe over Russian objections. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice called it a "breakthrough agreement" for the military alliance.

What was Rice doing instead of focusing on terrorism prior to 9/11. That's right pushing the missile defense system. The system that doesn't work. It's good to see even 7 years later that while they can't catch Bin Laden, they can continue to push the same system that 7 more years of testing has proven time and time again... not to work. Republicans never let fact get in the way. Yes Republicans still preparing to fight the 1950s cold war.

2. they already are - terrorism is the new 'threat'.

They're just busy re-tooling cuz 'terrorism' doesn't require the flashy hardware demanded by the arms race. Think about it, under neo-cons the entire defense of the country has been given over to the corporate contributing cronies. It has been privatized and will continue to operate only for the benefit of the shareholders (which are not you and me).

No, they're elephants! They never forget a bad idea, which is why they will continue to assault Social Security until it is in the hands of their corporate masters.

3. Sure....
and they have nine months left. Enough time to get some contracts signed and then pay penalties for breaking them. It's just another neo-con wealth transfer ploy.

4. 'Bad Republican ideas' -- why do you have to be so redundant?
But I'll tell you: should the GOP ever come up with a Star Wars system that defends against box cutters, then they'll be onto something. ;-)
