6. I like Hardball, Countdown, 360, The Daily Show from the MSM |
|
Some people take these shows to seriously... the moment their hosts say something they disagree with, or something stupid, they write the entire thing off.
I'm more relaxed. I like Hardball because sometimes I enjoy the guests, and honestly, sometimes I enjoy Chris. Other times he's a moron, but when he is I usually laugh about it.
It's like that with all shows.

8. Olbermann, DemocracyNow!, Stewart and then radio |
|
I love Stephanie, Thom Hartmann and Rachel Maddow in that order. Sam Seder when he is on and when I have time Malloy. Radio comes first in my book. They can really delve into issues. Oh and don't forget that Kennedy kid on the weekends.

9. I haven't watched either in a long time. |
|
It is interesting to watch them to take the pulse of the MSM. These shows represent the point of view that many voters are getting.
It is possible to learn from watching them. But check Media Matters after they say anything. See just how accurate they are. They are very biased.
It can be useful to watch them and do a little bit of research just so we can know how to counter the bullshit when you speak to family, friends, coworkers.
They do have the occasional guest who makes it worthwhile. Just know what you are getting when you view these shows. I don't think anyone here should look down on you for watching these shows.

11. not to drift off track but did you see Obama on Tweety yesterday? |
|
Mathews asked him if he'd ever had something happen on the campaign trail that crack him up, that he thought about later and laughed again.
Obama said, yes, actually, it used to happen every day but then I gave up watching cable news shows.

12. I thought that was a quick-witted answer. Tweety didn't know how to take it. |
|
I would like Tweety better if he didn't waste so much time trying to show us how much he knows about a subject. Then, when the guest tries to answer, he interrupts waaaaaaaaay too much. It's so bad some nights that I turn him off.
He really is pretty sharp on history and current events, but he'd learn a lot more if he'd shut up. JMVHO

15. yeah, that's my objection too |

and his swooning over "manly men". I'm sure I'm not going to like it so much when he starts talking about McCain more. He loves McCain.
If you haven't seen Verdict with Dan Abrams, he has a segment called Teflon John (I think that's what its called) about how the press gives McCain a free ride and he shows an example of it every night.
Love it. (Although the rest of the show is uneven.)

13. "thinking it through" |
|
I liked his comments about W not"thinking it through" and ending up with the Iraq mess we find ourselves in. While simultaneously appearing to have thoroughly "thought through" every single answer he gave. No politician in recent memory handles thorny divisive issues more deftly than Obama.
