Malloy's first hour has been all about Randi
Says that AAR has always been run incompetently.

Current management is pro-Hillary. Randi isn't. Randi gave 'em an excuse. She's gone.

He's still going on topic.

Hillary Clinton and her kind are truly unAmerican.

Randi Rhodes is the best host on AAR followed by Hartmann.

17. To be honest with you...I really prefer Sammy.
A caller sort of tried to say that but did it in a crude way today. Sammy cut him off. Sammy is one who is a voice of reason and opens-up discussion. Randi has been pushing her own personal views and feelings with a brutal tone which is not appealing to many Democrats who listen across the nation. This is a business and customer service always comes first.

Edited on Thu Apr-03-08 09:37 PM by saracat
Radi went too far and she deserves to be fired. She treated everyone, ebven her callers with complate disrespect. She is obviously very threatened and insecure. It is too bad.She was once a great talk show host.

Edit to change to rant. Since some want to assign and unintended meaning.

21. Opie and Anthony Got Paid by CBS After They Were Busted For A Contest
where a couple had sex in St Patrick's Cathedral. The couple had sex in the church on the air. Not only did they get paid for almost three years, they were allowed to come back on the air. And, they still are on the air.

There's no way on earth that Air America can ever get out of that contract with Randi Rhodes for statements she made off air. Heck, her union would even protest that.

How many people do you know in radio?

You don't do that stuff unless you check the rules three times and get permission in writing. Radio is full of control freaks and yes, they can and will fire you for that, regardless if they have to pay you or not.

But what you said about the contract stands, unless AA sues Randi for breach of contract and wins.

53. Oh, they will most definitely have to pay her.
You think Randi left West Palm Beach to go to NYC without a contract completely loaded in her favor?

She was the centerpiece of their lineup, due to her proven ratings record at WJNO, and the fact that she was practically the only 'real' broadcaster on the staff at the time.

It literally took months to negotiate that contract, and if I know Randi she got everything she wanted before committing to the move to AAR - including a clause that if the AAR gig went south, she could go back to her gig at WJNO.

If Mark Green is smart, he'll keep the suspension short and sweet, then put her back on the air with a minimum of fuss (like making her apologize on the air). If he doesn't do that, he will have a fight on his hands that he'll rue the day he took on.

Not to mention that if she leaves AAR, she'll take a lot of listeners and a huge chunk of ad revenue with her. Green better keep his Hillary cheerleading in his pocket and play nice with Randi, or AAR will have to back up the armored truck.

Believe me, this is a fight that AAR does not want - because when they signed Randi, they gave her everything she wanted and signed off on the contract.

47. That's not very helpful.
Your problem is that you actually believe EITHER of these candidates can right the ship.

While it is true also that if McCain gets in, we would all do well to update our Passports and revisit "The Sound Of Music" to ascertain what to do next, the cold hard fact is, that right now, We The People have no real choice.

We are not going to get real change no matter who we choose.

26. I only occasionally listen to Malloy and never listen to repug-lite AAR, so forgive my ignorance...
The last time I listened to Randi was when I was living in Florida and she was on WJNO as a local host. At the time, she was SLAVISHLY loyal to Bill Clinton, so I'm rather surprised to hear she isn't supporting Hillary.

But even then she was often rather abrupt even with democrat callers, and I can see how she might annoy some people.

But this was just before and after 9-11, and all the radio stations were 100% Bush-love all the time, to the point where I really felt we had become a nazi propaganda state.

Randi, after briefly rallying behind Bush for the Afghan invasion, was the one voice on the radio I could hear who was critical of the Bush administration, and not in a namby-pamby way.

She definitely has some ego and tact issues, but I will always appreciate her for being my only light in the darkness at that time.

My days of defending and supporting the "so called liberal" media are long gone...because sooner or later, they will show their bias.
I dislike bias when it comes to Democrats or republicans...like the bias that Faux shows to republicans.
I expect my media to give me all of the facts and let me decide the truths that I wish to glean from those facts...not force-feed me THEIR truths.

55. Never heard Malloy --- and Sam Seder did a lot on Randi yesterday . . .
and there's a great thread with the whole performance somewhere on DU which I haven't had the time to fully listen to yet ---

From reading threads here --- and from what I heard yesterday -- it is HRC supporters who were
already bent out of shape by Randi's move to Obama who are making the most noise ... behind the faux "sexist" claims.

Or with puritanical shock reactiosn to F.U.C.K. ---
which again is only an acronym which means "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" ---

I didn't hear one anti-Randi comment yesterday from people calling in based on anything but HRC
supporters being burned by her coming out for Obama.

And --- of course --- Randi didn't do that until the BIG BOSNIA LIE.

I think we failed here to make enough of that LIE -- cause evidently people here think that HRC
got away with it--!!!

I also take HRC's lie as having done harm to all female candidates --
and to the Democratic Party --- and I want an apology ---

"Miss spoke" . . . ???
An entire delusional dream of a an airplane ride under attack isn't mispeaking --- !!!
