81% - EIGHTY ONE PERCENT - of Americans think the country is on the wrong track
CBS News poll being reported this morning on teevee.

This is the highest number in the history of the poll.

And in this time that, like perhaps no other in history, favors Democrats, our candidates are pissing all over each other.

And we call Republicans stoopit.

Let me say the essential point again .....

Eighty One Percent of Americans think the country is broken.

As you've probably noticed, wingers have no self-critical faculties whatsoever.

8. All The Other "Indexes" Have Been Jobbed...
Anyone remember the comfort index? The affects of rising costs on basic needs...and 80's relic that the GOOP used to hammer the Democratic Congress...I can only guess what that index looks like today.

We don't get honest numbers about employment as ANY job is counted...and wages are never taken into account. Then there's the inflation index where the price of food and oil have been removed by the GOOPers as not to really show how bad things have gotten.

Not only do people think this country is on the wrong track, they don't see it straightening up this year...period. This is the number to watch...not only that people think things are bad, but who they blame.

Despite the corporate media's desire for a "horse race" with Gramps and Hillary, they have totally ignored the real story going on here...one that has been delivered several times during the primaries and I suspect will come out loud and clear in November....People Are Pissed. They're not only tired of Repugnican lying and corruption (and that's who will get the blame), but also a corporate media that has carried their water. The backlash cometh and the more the GOOP attempt to make it a boooosh third term, the greater a disaster they face...not just from Democrats, but within their own slimy coven.

11. One Nit To Pick
The standard inflation number has never included food and energy. The excuse used to be that it was "too volatile". Of course, that's conventional economics-speak for "too hard".

But, in the computer age, it would be quite simple to track and develop a metric that included these things. We just haven't done it, because the conventionalists still rule the roost.

But, those numbers weren't excluded by the GOOPers. They were excluded, long ago, by lazy economists.

9. Headlines at the Times as well
I'm only mad I didn't get to participate in the survey. It would have been 81.1% then.
