5. Don't be fooled
Getting rich on real estate is not something that is easily done anymore. Prices are still dropping and there is a glut in supply.

4. Devil's Advocate
If a home is already in foreclosure by the bank then it seems to be a smart move by a consumer to look for one of these homes to buy.

The vast majority of Americans are cash strapped at the moment, and if you are looking for a house then a house on the cheap is the way to go.

7. I wonder how many of these "foreclosed homes" are ones where the person
bought it, slapped on a new coat of paint, and was going to flip it for immediate profit ...

8. The reality of the situation- the homes need to be bought.
Yes- It totally sucks that someone lost their home. But the answer is not leaving those homes empty and rotting. Getting new families into those homes is good for the community and nieghborhood.

I am all for trying to figure out solutions to keep homes from going into foreclosure, but we are talking about homes already foreclosed on. Those homes need to be occupied and hopefully some family is getting a house that they can afford.

9. don't forget the economy...homeowners drive a big part of the consumer economy.
and not all of the foreclosed homes represent a family losing theirs. in most of the worst hit areas, lots of the forclosed homes are/were owned by speculators trying to flip for a quick & easy profit that didn't turn out that way.
