A lesson today from Dr. King for all of us, especially the Bush regime |
|
"World peace through nonviolent means is neither absurd nor unattainable. All other methods have failed...Nonviolence is a good starting point." MLK, Jr. 1964.
This is my signature line on my work email. Some of my right wing colleagues don't like it because they think (and with some truth) that this is a slap at their glorious leader, George W Bush.
Imagine, nonviolence being a "radical" idea. Only in the era of Bush.

it's always been that way. King was considered a radical for his peace views. Ghandi was considered the same way. As George Carlin once said, "we are a war-like people." He was talking specifically about the U.S., but the world in general loves to be in violent conflict with each other.

2. "There is no way to peace. Peace is the way." |
|
There's some discrepancy about who said this, but it's often posted at Quaker meetings.
