That depends. Can I order pizza? Another problem: I see no mention of weapons. I might need weapons in case I decide to kill and eat my family, or the mailman, say. do I get extra points for having weapons?

13. It's easy to say that when you have food, have shelters available, or can steal it. |
|
It's another thing entirely when you're actually staring starvation in the face. Many people forget about that sort of thing when the only other option is death.
Personally, I don't think it would be an option for me anyway. If food REALLY vanished, and it was obvious that it would be gone a while, the first thing I'd do is set my dogs free and I wouldn't feed them. I wouldn't kill them, but I couldn't feed them knowing that every bite they ate would be one less for my children to eat. They can scavenge off the human corpses in the city. I can't.

9. Why would you be trapped? |
|
Are you suggesting the outside might be contaminated or maybe flooded or what? I have tools in my house to be able to extradite myself from my home and unless the whole area were to become radioactive I can not visualize any reason I could become trapped within my home. I do have enough food to last me a few months but water may become a problem. I can live just fine off the land if need be.

We have a large earthquake kit for this very reason.
As an added bonus, I have about an acre of land that could be converted into active farm production fairly quickly, and enough leftover seeds from my existing garden to plant most of it (I buy seed packs that usually contain dozens of seeds, but usually only plant one or two of each). I have more land that could also be farmed, but it would have to be cleared first.
I also have a well, a surface water source, and a couple of horses that I would probably be willing to eat if it came down to either watching them or my kids die.
Where I live, the bigger danger would be the marauding urban hordes from the nearby towns who would overrun us looking for food.
