Former Attorney General John Ashcroft drew the ire of students at liberal Skidmore College this week when he confused the name of Barack Obama with that of Osama bin Laden.

"All I'm saying about the Patriot Act," Ashcroft began, "is that the elected representatives of this country, including Osama ..."

His words were met with a roar of disbelief and disapproval, as he continued stammering, "uh ... you know ... not ... Obama."

Ashcroft attempted to say "I'm sorry" but was drowned out by prolonged boos. "I did not mean to ... I'm sorry about that ... I apologize publicly," Ashcroft went on as the boos gradually subsided.

13. Oddly disarming little bit of video that (it's in Farenheit 9/11, right?)
It just goes to show you how almost completely mundane EVIL is.

16. What is really stunning is that he turned out to be one of the GOOD guys
who wouldn't sign off on illegal wiretapping.

That's how screwn we have been.

7. That's what is known as "casting your swine before pearls".
Why would an ignorant pig like Ashcroft be invited to speak to intelligent students at an institution of higher learning?
;-)

9. Hmmm. I think they are calling Barack "Osama" in private.
Oh, sure they'll deny it and apologize for the slip-ups, but he was just showing what he really thinks.

18. I watched a panel on Richard Wright today.
Wright's daughter, Sonia Sanchez and others discussed the conflagration that would happen if a hair on his head is hurt in the least little way.

We're not the only ones who have thought about this, it turns out. And it looks like no one is willing to ever, ever, ever allow something like that to happen again. NFW. It was really good to listen to Sanchez.

12. He more than got away with it. Sounded like a lot of laughter
...amidst the boos. This weird idea that he was somehow "centered for shame" is just a figment of some people's imaginations. Just wishful thinking combined with a hyper-conventional, unreal concept of opprobrium.

17. Dr. Freud. Paging Dr. Freud!
One of your slips has been found. Please report to the security desk to reclaim your property.

It would appear ashcroft's ID was outed by his EGO. Or is it EGO outed by ID. I always get those two confused. :D

(and I just typed "ascroft" instead of "ashcroft". It would appear my ID and EGO are playing along. LOL)

20. A liberal school would tend to be egalitarian in its policy
around speakers and allow even a small conservative minority group on campus to invite this criminal.
