Ed Schultz calls McCain a WARMONGER. McCain wants the comment condemned
Edited on Sat Apr-05-08 11:45 AM by kineta
When you call for a 100 years of war, you've earned the moniker fool. If it quacks like a duck, etc.

http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/04/05/mccain-calls-on-obama-to-condemn-warmonger-remark/

<snip>
John McCain’s campaign officials are calling on Barack Obama to condemn remarks made by an introductory speaker who called McCain “a warmonger” at a North Dakota campaign stop Friday.

Local liberal talk show host Ed Schultz used the term to describe the Arizona senator while warming up the crowd in Grand Forks, N.D., before Obama’s arrival at the state’s Democratic convention.

The McCain campaign likens the insult to the language used by conservative radio talk show host Bill Cunningham, who rallied the crowd for McCain in Cincinnati, Ohio, in late February by repeatedly invoking Obama’s middle name, “Hussein,” mocking him as a “hack” and suggesting that as president he’d cozy up to Hezbollah and Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. McCain condemned Cunningham, prompting a fierce response from the talk show host.

excel at stating the obvious.

5. Heh. Ironic isn't it?
Someone should call McCain a 'torture-monger' so we can really watch him lose it.

8. How dare Ed Schultz attack "a very close friend" McCain?
Edited on Sat Apr-05-08 11:49 AM by Ichingcarpenter

John McCain, "who is on the right side opposing torture", a "moderate", and "one of the
two candidates, that love this country"? "The general election race is likely to be a love-fest"
without this kind of talk from Ed Schultz.

:sarcasm:

13. Good for Schulz for telling it like it is--and he's hardly a "local," either.
If it's running for "Commander in Chief" (as one of his ads claims) and advocates for 100 years of occupation in Iraq--help me out--why should Schulz's remarks be condemned? Isn't that just what they want? I'm confused.

I think I lack the "poor, persecuted RW" gene...

Does this mean Ed's going to get pulled off the air, too? McCain made that shitty joke about Chelsea, sang the "Bomb Iran" song, didn't reprimand that woman when she called Hillary a bitch, and now he's whining about someone calling him, "Mr. All-Balls, No Quit" a name? Never heard of any apologies from him for any of the lousy stuff he says.

29. I thought conservatives viewed being called "warmonger" a compliment
The man has just spent the last couple of weeks running around the country visiting every military school and base he ever attended. . .and before that, he made his eighth trip to Iraq. Hell yes, he's a warmonger. . .his entire career training is military, and war is what they are trained for, isn't it?

by the way the radio host that introduced McCain used racist language, and to his credit he disavowed him

But this is a problem... IF WE ARE IN POWER SHUT THE YOU KNOW WHAT OFF!

36. Schultz has been focusing on Senator McCain for the last few weeks
He has stopped worrying over Obama v Clinton and taken on McCain. He has used McCain's own record and McCain's own words to show America exactly the person McCain is. He has made the case that McCain has a bad temper, one that is out of control and quite dangerous. His listeners have been calling in in droves thanking him for doing this. I am an avid listener to progressive radio who feels that nobody else is 'gettin' 'er done' as Big Eddie has over these past few weeks! I love Hartman, Maddow, Rhodes, and Malloy but if I had to pick just one who is getting the message out that needs getting out, it would be The Ed Shultz Show. Call him what you like, I'll call him what he is: an American Patriot!
