Bush Wants $200 billion More for Iraq
http://www.weau.com/home/headlines/17325319.html

Congressman Dave Obey says President Bush will soon ask his Appropriations Committee for more money to use in Iraq, $200 billion to be exact.

Congressman Obey says it's important to understand the true cost of the war.

He says it has weakened our country, and our ability to repair and strengthen our economy.

That's why he says the appropriations committee has plans to put some conditions on the use of that money.

1. Meanwhile, we can pay for it with more tax cuts!
:sarcasm:

We need to pay for this thing; last I heard, the oil claimed to do so isn't.

4. Instead of putting "conditions" on the use of the money
why not just deny the fucktard any more money at all for his little misadventure? Congress and the senate have turned into enablers of this war crack addict. What did he say his war of choice would cost originally? 50 billion? Learn to keep to a budget like any grownup, Bushboy.

5. Ok, give him $150B and put in $50B for saving people from forclosure then let him sign it
Because he's already said that the economy can withstand an additional 1/5th of a trillion in debt.

13. My thoughts...
This is my second attempt at answering your question – did they plan this:

No, in my opinion, what has happened was not the result of planning, but rather their inability to understand history and consequences. Mr. Bush while selected by the SCOTUS (who I believe were paying off political favors) was appointed to the cheer leader and front man for those behind the throne. Mr. Bush until recently didn’t have a clue what was taking place in the nation and the world. He just read some script on a page – sold the bill of goods – and enjoyed being told he was in control. Being president of the US was nothing more than another ‘position’ that he had been given in his past – and there was no penalty for being a failure, because someone else always rode to the rescue.

Planning – Mr. Bush, no this was not planned, because planning was not part of the equation. The Neo-cons (always remember that they were considered the crazies during the Nixon administration) honestly believed that having created an empire – it would make its own reality. So, planning was not necessary – I mean reality was what we made it, not what was happening we could change and make life respond to the events of our making. So, planning was not necessary.

This administration, like we the people, are now responding to events beyond our control. We are re-active, not pro-active to both national and world events. I see us in some ways like the third world countries that took loans from the World Bank – and the bills came due; The owners of the bank forced policies on the foreign countries to ensure that they paid the bills to the detriment of the people within their countries. If they failed to turn over their assets (usually the natural resources) to the corporate owners of the notes – then we would send in our military (directly, or use advisors, or finally proxy fighters to promote revolution) to fight the communism that interfered with clear thinking. We are now in the same situation – the fundamental difference is that our military (I pray) won’t be used against us when the bills come due. (At the same time, I have to question how that 100K plus mercenary army that we have financed in Iraq will be used).

Mr. Bush and the powers behind the throne expected that when they opened the box it would be Xmas for them; the warning that so many tried to share that the box was actually Pandora’s fell on deaf ears – because they heard what they wanted to hear; and they ensured that Mr. Bush would only see Santa and them that sang his praises. (I guess we’ll see more of that with the ‘show & tell’ when Gen. BEtrayus addresses the senate – and Admiral Fellon will not be allowed to speak).

Mr. Bush has only belatedly discovered that no one is coming to the rescue – all his daddies friends were against this mess; and who of his daddy’s friends can rescue a nation? I mean, think about it, who would have figured that one man could destroy a nation – having said that – he did a number on Texas as governor. Mr. Bush, from news accounts, is only now discovering that he is being held accountable and no one loves him anymore. After almost seven years of the nation, congress, other world leaders kissing his hairy ass – they dislike him and have no respect for him. This is his new reality – and he is dealing with his inability to make the world understand that the medicine or box that he opened is good for us. He has never had to pay for his mistakes or acknowledge these mistakes because someone covered up the mess. And even worse, his ‘mistakes or failures’ resulted in additional wealth for his friends – so that was not wrong, was it?

Maybe we should ask the voters of the nation a question: Why did those that voted for this man as president consider would happen when the man they voted for has a history of (a) being a failure at everything that he has tried; (b) decided that critical thinking was a negative; (c) has a daddy complex that has never been resolved; and (d) was proud of his ignorance and actually promoted it as a positive – during his first term.

As a nation – we are responsible for Bush – and we as a nation have a responsibility to come up with a plan; a plan that is not built on personality politics but on understanding our responsibilities and duties as a nation, and as citizens..
