I have to wonder about his stand about stem cell research. He probably followed the republican sheep and was against it. That would hurt other people.

I have to ask why so many here have found Mr. Heston's stance on Civil Rights to be shocking? His stance on gun control is in no way contradictory to his work to gain equal rights for blacks. In fact it seems to me that someone who wants everyone to be able to own a gun must be in favor of equality independent of race/gender/sexual orientation.

RIP Mr. Heston.

but you knew that. You just wanted to make sure people can read the nasty comment under your newslink and figured a new topic is the best way to do this right? Well congrats a few of us read it. Too bad you don't know about the guys years in the civil rights movement, friends with the Kennedy's as well. He changed in his later years but thats ok you don't need to or want to know more, just be happy in the man's death. Maybe someday someone out there will say the same thing about you.

But I do remember how he went to Flint Michigan and held a NRA rally while the courts were trying to decide if charging a 6 year old as an adult was a bit over much. Seemed if memory served me right that a 6 year old black child brought a gun to school and shot a 6 year old white girl killing her. Heston ranted about how teachers needed guns in class rooms to stop this sort of thing from happening again. He made the same speech after the Colorado school shootings. Thats what I base my views of the man, not on what he did before becomming a republican spokes person.
