May I suggest a way to really piss off your conservative neighbors?
Its worked for me. I thoroughly enjoy pissing off conservatives, especially religious zealots but this one has worked quite well:

THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BUSH AND MCCAIN IS THAT MCCAIN SERVED HONORABLY IN THE MILITARY.

Then I casually stroll away. And it really has them sputtering because most of those with "values" around here who know me, know that I am a veteran. Go ahead, give it a try!!

3. Beautiful! And I will use it!!
I have been screaming from the rooftops that McCain would be "more of the same." But it will be nice to use this caveat.

10. That's good!
But I think it only works if the person was in the military.

11. I will use it -- but
I will rephrase it to "The only difference between Bush and McCain is that McCain didn't desert from the military."

Back when he was first in office, the wingnuts made a big deal about how the military people would salute him and then turn to salute his back as he walked away. That was supposed to indicate they respected him more than they did Clinton. I always answered "Saluting Bush from behind is an old military tradition, because when he was in the guard, the only thing they saw of him was his ass when he deserted."

13. They had no respect for Kerry's service
So therefore, I have no respect for McBush's. In fact, is it even proven? Why do we presume it's true? Why doesn't the media examine it with a fine tooth comb, as they did to Kerry? It is possible McBush is not the "hero" he claims to be.

When they would not admit Kerry to be a war hero, I do not think we should just give in immediately on McBush being one.

15. Kerry avoided service in the National Guard
by hiding in the jungle of Viet Nam!

But as far as Mc is concerned, he probably performed as admirably as most guys did in those days - it just doesn't make any sense to me that being captured by the VC is a meaningful recommendation or qualification to be Prez.

20. Exactly, we can feel bad for him without having to make him Prez
as consolation!

18. Thankfully, virtually everyone in my neighborhood hates BushCo and most of them
have Obama bumper stickers on their cars. But that is a great line, I hope I get chance to use it some time. :hi:
