McCain Yells..."Cindy, you C***"
by pentupnrgy3
Mon Apr 07, 2008 at 10:23:58 AM PDT

John McCain's temper is well documented. He's called opponents and colleagues "shitheads," "assholes" and in at least one case "a fucking jerk."

But a new book on the presumptive Republican nominee will air perhaps the most shocking angry exchange to date.

I think McBush maybe dealing with PTSD. Do we really want a president who can't deal rationally and explodes into tirades of anger? Keep in mind that McCain will not release his medical records....what's he hidoing?

A new book on the presumptive Republican nominee will air perhaps the most shocking angry exchange to date.

The Real McCain by Cliff Schecter, which will arrive in bookstores next month, reports an angry exchange between McCain and his wife that happened in full view of aides and reporters during a 1992 campaign stop.

In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain’s hair and said, "You’re getting a little thin up there." McCain’s face reddened, and he responded, "At least I don’t plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you c**t." McCain’s excuse was that it had been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days.

The man who was known as "McNasty" in high school has erupted in foul-languaged tirades at political foes and congressional colleagues more-or-less throughout his career, and his quickness to anger has been an issue on the presidential campaign trail as evidence of his fury has surfaced.

As Schecter notes, McCain's rage is not limited to the political spectrum, and even his family cannot be spared the brute force of his anger.

Schecter, who also blogs at The Agonist, said in an interview the anecdote is "an early example of his uncontrollable temper." In the book he outlines several other examples of McCain losing his cool and raises the question of how that would affect a McCain presidency.

1. well, she does plaster on makeup like a trollope ... and
she did go after a married man 20 years her senior. and she did get the head of her foundation fired because he wouldn't cover for her junkie habits anymore. so, though it's a pretty disrespectful term, the "c*nt" part might be on the money, too.

12. And she does dress - um - a little - uh - well, let me just say that I think
she's a little old to be wearing those skin-tight leather jackets (and she has them in several colors, also). It's easier to be a Leather-Babe when you're in a rock 'n' roll world or you're Hollywood hottie's agent or you're an artist or producer or in the design world or something. But in a staid old forum like politics, married to the oldest candidate on record, um - seems to me a LITTLE decorum is advisable. OF COURSE you should look stylish and elegant. But I think tight leather clothing is inappropriate in this case. Certainly she keeps herself fit, and well-turned-out, she's into fashion, and she has to look good on his arm 'cause they're out in public and there are important impressions to be made. STILL, it's very inappropriate, even if she does have the figure for it.

I don't want a Leather-Babe as First Lady, thank you very much. If I did, I'd vote for Pat Benatar or Fergie or Pamela Anderson or Heather Locklear or somebody.

70. Calimary, I love ya.....
If it weren't for you posting those 800 numbers to call Congress again and again and again....I never would have done it....But I have done it and will continue to do so.

But I think you're barking up the wrong tree with this one. There are plenty of reasons to not support McCain to be be our next pres, but his wife's choice of dress is not one of them.

Perhaps Mrs. McCain has read, "When I am an Old Woman I Shall Wear Purple"

and to call his wife a word like that in public (or anywhere else, for that matter) shows what a low-rent s.o.b. he is.

Edited on Mon Apr-07-08 02:02 PM by Pacifist Patriot
Despite my personal opinion of his wife, I find speaking to another human being, particularly a spouse, in that manner to be disturbing. Certainly not the type of person I'd like representing my country as its Chief Executive. I've long been concerned about his temper. I hope this book will open other eyes. He is hardly the mild-mannered centrist he's usually portrayed as in the corporate media.

Edited to fix an annoying grammatical error.

4. HOW do we get people to understand that even IF he does "control" himself,
even IF there are no more incidents of abuse - ever, there are STILL definite effects from the suppression or oppression of such a personality type. We are also talking about an ORGANIC situation here, inside this person, not some fungible quality mitigated by a smart ad campaign.

9. The o.p.'s link is the SECOND source for calling him McNASTY
For the past 8 years it's been easy calling Shrub Shrub and Tweety Tweety, but until now McNASTY hasn't rated the significance of being nicknamed.

But in the link below comes "McNASTY," which has an organic derivation, just as "Tweety" came from Tweety's own staff, as relayed to the defunct website Media Whores Online in 2000. In the link below, it is said that D.C. insiders call McNASTY this.

.... He torpedoed claims that his father has a volcanic temper, a reputation that's earned the former Vietnam POW the nickname "McNasty" among Washington politicos. "It cracks me up when I hear about this crazy temper because I've lived with him for almost 22 years and I've never seen it," Jack said, although he admitted, "If I screwed up, I'd know it."

Asked about his father reportedly telling another senator "(bleep) you" in a debate over an immigration bill, Jack said, "He probably deserved it . . . (My dad) isn't a bland politician. He's candid." Jack also shot down assertions that John, 71, is too old to be commander-in-chief, noting they hiked 30 miles together across the Grand Canyon last summer.

and I don't think he ever used the "f" or the "c" word. He used words like "hell" and "s.o.b." But my grandparents, all of whom were Republicans, expressed dismay for his use of language as well as his political philosophy. I suspect they would all be spinning in their graves if they knew about McCain and the current GOP. BTW, my mother, the only parent still living, is planning to vote Democratic this fall, even though she is a registered Republican. Her children and grandchildren, btw, all know better and vote Democratic.

59. I agree with you, npincus
We can only hope for widespread dissemination of this story, as well as all the other info coming out about his anger management (or lack thereof), lack of knowledge of foreign policy, warmongering and disregard for human life ("Bomb, bomb Iran..."), lack of consistency on issues, etc.

All the drivel in this thread about Cindy somehow being responsible because of her words is akin to people who blame rape victims because of the way they dress. It doesn't matter WHAT she said; his response is vicious, derogatory, hurtful, demeaning, misanthropic, and childish. It clearly demonstrates the type of person he is. There ARE no excuses for it.
