the height of irresponsibility
"To promise a withdrawal of our forces from Iraq, regardless of the calamitous consequences to the Iraqi people, our most vital interests, and the future of the Middle East, is the height of irresponsibility," he said. "It is a failure of leadership."

I'm pretty sure if McCain plans to scale mount irresponsible the summit will be occupied by the thought of attacking a country that was no threat to your country, has no means to attack your country, has international inspectors in it to make sure it is no threat to your country under the the false thought that the attack was a preemptive measure. Creating war by lying to the American people about the cost of the war, the length of the war, the end conditions for the war, the international communities willingness to help the US, the desire of the Iraqi people to be liberated by force, the acceptance of the Iraqi people to occupation by a foreign power and the change in the political balance caused by the collapse of Iraq. Now only 5 years into slowly murdering the Iraqi people does McCain seem to care about them, and by care I mean ignore poll after poll that the Iraqi people want a US time line that includes the US leaving.

2. If we finally get a time line
I think that by the end of Obama's 16-month pledge, the end of the occupation will be "non-news". People are fighting among themselves in nations all over the world; we only care about Iraq because half of the MSM's reporters are still there.

Unfortunately, American taxpayers are going to be looking at YEARS of war reparations.

5. You beat me to it.
The word that no one dares mention...OIL!

Oil is like the elephant in the living room that no one wants to talk about -- but everyone knows is there.

7. Isn't America tired of playing this game?
I have watched the bush gang play this little game for the past five years and people need to wake up and realize what is going on. Patraeus will testify tommorrow and the so called new outbreak of violence he will be used as an excuse for keeping the occupation going.

They have been playing this game for years everytime someone over there comes to testify. You put a few troops in you take a few troops out and then you play the "Stay the course game" and then you shake it all about.

I was so sick of this shit when Rumsfeld was in there putting in 30,000 and then after a few months or weeks put back in 15,000 and then some thing would happen and then they would add 30,000 more and so on and so on..Then you would listen to most of the republiCON senators and congressmen come on every show and spout the same lines. "When they stood up we would stand down" We want victory" Way Forward" " Cut and run" and our favorite "Stay the course" and because a lot of Americans weren't paying attention they are now playing catch up and very surprised but, they don't realize how much these thieves have really done to the destroy our country and the other parts of the world...

So when watching the hearing tommorrow remember this and realize how they have been keeping this going for so long remember "Fool me once"
