"my friends. . ." Friends don't send friends to slaughter based on thoroughly bogus intelligence |
|
(aka sheer stupidity)
But according to Gary Larson, "Ray guns don't vaporize Zorbonians. Zorbonians vaporize Zorbonians."
Discuss. . .

1. The long term penalties of violating the War Powers Resolution and |
|
its requirement for 'clear' (truthful) 'situations' and 'circumstances'...meant to prevent future Gulf of Tonkin phoney pretexts for war...will continue to accrue as long as military men allow themselve to be seen as stupid animals, as Dr K called them,
In Haig's presence, Kissinger referred pointedly to military men as "dumb, stupid animals to be used" as pawns for foreign policy."
* Woodward and Bernstein, The Final Days, chapter 14
Dr K advises our current WH occupant. It shows.

6. One of my oldest friends is the smartest man I've ever met. |
|
He met Dr. K through his dad and Dr. K wanted him to get involved in intelligence.
He proceeded to hop on a sailboat and cross the ocean.
He's had legal hassles ever since.
He was smart but lacked savvy.
I presume you know about Smedley Butler's "War is a Racket."
Just so troublesome that this is still going on.

10. USMC Gen Smedley D. Butler is a personal hero of mine |
|
I'll take the wisest man over the 'smartest' 'cleverest' any day. The wise man knows when to fight and in our country's history that has always been a fight as the LAST resort. The long train of abuses mentioned in one of those old documents attests to that. War Is A Racket (online) http://www.lexrex.com/enlightened/articles/warisaracket.htm

I'm not gifted graphically.
I can draw but am sort of a cyber ninnie.

REALLY spot-on, stellanoir!
"my friends. . ." Friends don't send friends to slaughter based on thoroughly bogus intelligence.
Quite brilliant and eminently quotable!

but if anyone makes a bundle off it I've got a kid to put through college. Yikes. Just saying.
I was thinking after I posted it I might send it to the freeway blogger too.
As a young kid I was deeply offended when Nixon used to preface EVERY statement with "my fellow Americans. . ." as I had nothing in common with him.
I find this "my friends. . ." preface even more offensive.
I'm not personally a friend of any war monger and never will be.

And I, too, hate it every time I hear that smarmy voice saying "my friends..." I keep hollering out in response - "I'm NOT your friend, john."
I have heard of several "my friends" drinking games that have been undertaken during some of his televised speeches, though. And you play those, and you wind up sounding like george w. bush.

I just had heard that "my friends. . " preamble one too many times and exploded with this thread.
That coupled with the testimony today, which I didn't watch, and this incessant claptrap of "the surge is working" BS , just all contributed to me having to post something.
Yikes.
I hope your friends take it easy with that drinking game because that could be dangerous if, god forbid, he gets selected.
I'm hoping and praying that won't happen though.
