Thank you so much for doing this, and for providing so much of the info on what was said. Best "hosting" of such threads I've seen here, and invaluable for those of us who could not watch all of the hearings.

I had to go clean up the storm damage in my yard for over an hour, left about halfway thru the first hearings. Came back in exhausted and found these threads on the second round of hearings, and man what a difference from the first group!!

I will go back thru all these threads to get all the info I can, and just wanted to thank you so much for them.

Sure glad I came in in time to catch all of Feingold's wrap-up and skewering of those two mouthpieces, but found myself actually shouting "Bastard!" at Petraeus when he was responding to questions about giving ANY sort of ballpark estimate on a timetable for drawing down troops. He kept trying to just dodge and duck, but finally said that it would be "irresponsible" to offer a time for draw-down, can only say "as conditions permit," and then this:

"IF we want to throw away all the sacrifices and work done by our troops up till now, that's what giving a timetable would do," or somesuch thing, and I just couldn't take it anymore. BASTARD!

The whole notion that we MUST continue to spend both blood and treasure of our troops and nation because of all the blood and treasure that has already BEEN spent just sends me over the edge!
