1. In crime circles that is called extortion and our congress has tolerated this
:wtf: Definitions of extortion on the Web:

- an exorbitant charge
- unjust exaction (as by the misuse of authority); "the extortion by dishonest officials of fees for performing their sworn duty"
- the felonious act of extorting money (as by threats of violence)
- The obtaining of property from another induced by wrongful use of actual or threatened force, violence, or fear, or under color of official right.

2. Call it what it is
Appeasement.

The neocons should take a hard look in the mirror before they accuse those who want to leave Iraq of appeasing terrorists.

3. Which is why we need Rachel Maddow on MSNBC and not just KO
To voice the displeasure of the American people with this situation, and to refute the Reich wing talking points.

4. Whey they fight against the US forces aren't they then called "terrorist"
Does this mean that our tax dollars are being spent supporting terrorist? Shouldn't Homeland Security be alerted? I'm pretty sure this is a direct violation of The Patriot Act.

7. Makes you wonder just who is getting the money. Doesn't it?
I suppose it's possible they're using the famous 'trickle down' method and it's working out just like it always does.

6. I think you dropped some 000 in that 18 million
seems rather cheap considering a 200 billion or thereabout bill in the recent past.

8. they should have done this from the beginning
This thing is colossal cluster fuck no matter HOW you look at it.

With the amount we've spent we could have paid bribe money to every single man woman and child in Iraq and NOT lost 4000+ US soldiers and countless Iraqi lives.
... or we could have just dropped 1/2 of what we've spent on the leading opposition party.

OR.. we could have just stayed the fuck out of the whole situation and not wasted the money and lives it has so far cost.

The whole RW "govt should be like business" thing pisses me off to no end.
If this were a business every fuckin' one of those pricks who led us to war would have been FIRED and the SEC would be crawling up their asses for fiduciary misconduct.

9. Pirates
Edited on Tue Apr-08-08 04:31 PM by NotGonnaTakeIt
We went to war with the Barbary States in 1803 because the Barbary Coast pirates (present day Algeria and Tunisia) were demanding "tribute" from our government for free passage for merchant vessels passing through their waters. Otherwise they would be subject to piracy. WTF, over 200 years later and we are now paying tribute to rogues once again. And we are already AT WAR with these rogues???

10. NOT "tribal leaders," this time they are C.L.C.s - Concerned Local Citizens
While the differences among the terms "terrorist," "tribal leader," "local warlord," C.L.C.," "x group we are paying off this month" might seem entirely semantic, this is only because the differences among these terms are entirely semantic.

I hope this clears things up.
