The Housing Crisis--two locations near me, Condos for sale.
Edited on Tue Apr-08-08 09:40 PM by Stuart G
I just walked in from meeting with friends. On the way home, I drove passed two new Condo buildings. One came on the market about 10 months ago, and another two or three. The first, I would say, has 40 units, selling between 250K and 300K. The other about the same price, but 30 units.

..I drove by at 9pm Central time, Tuesday Eve... One unit of each had been sold. 2 out of 70. Who is going to pay if these do not sell? Who is going to cover the losses of the banks, if they go bankrupt, after the builders and developers go bankrupt? I sure hope it us. But what does this really mean?

1. Either the developer will sell to an investor
and try to break even or take a small hit, or he'll go bankrupt and they'll end up being owned by his lender.

In any case, another word for condominium is "rental apartment." That's probably what they'll turn into, eventually, luxury rentals.
