They told me in advance, in the event that there was something like the live hearings.

In which case, hopefully, we'll do it next month.

Here's the original thread:

Shit - forgot to say thank you - I CANNOT tell you how much your support here on DU means, and has meant, to me. I feel like the cat that just caught a rat and then brought the prize home to her humans (that would be YOU guys).

:patriot:  :pals: :toast: :headbang:

Are you going to forget about all yer DU pals when you win your Peabody?

Artist's rendering of Calimary as a political commentator in the present climate of Lilliputians like O'Reilly, Russert and Matthews: Think "Attack of the 50-Ft. Woman."

2. What was really funny, and excruciatingly appropriate was the part of my son's
song where the lyrics went "...she is a wrecking machine..." And they faded up on THAT part when I brought in my first guest, Ellen Snortland of "Group Hillary" in Pasadena. Felt kinda like it applied to me, too!

And NO I AM NOT going to forget anybody here. Are you kidding me??!?!?!?!? All the time I've spent here getting to know people and reading/watching some really world-class debates, discussions, and rants - it's certainly smartened me up and broadened my scope. I think I posted elsewhere here that I spent a whole lotta years as a news reporter/anchor/writer/producer - and the watchword was always OBJECTIVITY. You had to swallow your bias. And I always tried really hard to be vigilant about that. HERE, especially at DU and my own website et al, I have the privilege of exercising some new muscles and becoming comfortable being openly opinionated - something I was NOT used to doing when I was still working. And I certainly never had a vehicle for it. DU helped me get to this point. Like, for example, I wrote down a line from stellanoir regarding mccain - riffing on his smarmy "my friends" blather - "friends don't send friends to die for a war of lies" (I'm paraphrasing). I don't know when I'll be on next, but they did give me an assignment - to find a mccain person and some generic Democrat to come in on the next round. It's a weekly show with a revolving series of hosts, and evidently I get to be one. So it might be another four to five weeks before the next one, but apparently there WILL be a next one! Yay! And when that mccain person comes in, I plan to quote our stella's line and ask about that.

My hero is Rachel Maddow. If I can someday touch the hem of her garment (professionally speaking), I'll be doing just fine!
