Let's call Rep Patrick McHenry (R-CHICKENHAWK) and ask him why he hasn't enlisted
This 32-year-old war supporter has called a Green Zone sentry a "two-bit security guard" and breached operational security by bragging about witnessing a rocket attack in Baghdad.

I think we should call his offices and ask why he's not over there fighting if he thinks the job is so easy. Here's some numbers for you.

1. Better yet, call his constituents, and ask them why they voted in this tool!
Who's his opponent--do some phone banking for THAT person.

He and his staff could give a shit what you think. Ya wanna smile and dial, make it worth it--find out who is running against him.

2. Quick question....
How is talking about a mortar attack that already happened breaching "operational security"?

Operational Security being defined as "a a methodology that denies critical information to an adversary. Unlike security programs that seek to protect classified information, OPSEC measures identify, control, and protect generally unclassified evidence that is associated with sensitive operations and activities." (per Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operations_security )

His comments were way out of line and he should be called out for them, but saying he violated operational security is innaccurate.

4. Did he reveal any details, like if it breached a revetment, where it landed (helpful
in determining trajectory if they were using a handmade launcher), if it exploded, what specific damage it caused (helpful if the thing was home-made or a modified piece of old weaponry), what area of the base they hit, that sort of thing.

It's not just "past tense" that rules when it comes to OPSEC. Anything that gives the enemy an advantage applies. If he revealed ANYTHING that wasn't known about this incident, he's in violation.

It's why we have TS papers still under seal from WW2.

Don't rely on WIKIPEDIA for OPSEC justifications or appropriate security classifications. Everything's "situational." He clearly let "the enemy" know something that had some level of classification behind it.

5. The Pentagon apparently believes McHenry may have violated operational security procedures

8. Next to the committing the attack itself, an accurate damage assessment is next most valuable
A military force will risk further personnel and assets, if necessary, in order to obtain accurate information on the effects of an attack. Provides them information to determine if they need to attack the target again, or if they can focus their resources elsewhere. Also gives them feedback to improve the effectiveness of future attacks.

Handing this information over to the enemy on purpose would be treasonous. McHenry did it because he's a fucking idiot.
