K&R for the photos, the passion, and especially for your title.

7. All day, our local teevee stations were calling these beautiful protesters
a potential threat and imputing violence to them -- smearing them.

It didn't happen.

They were great. :)

2. Great pics!
Thanks.

I still can't imagine why they picked SF for the torch relay.

8. They picked it probably for two reasons:
Edited on Wed Apr-09-08 10:36 PM by ellisonz
(1) Arrogance
(2) They could more easily organize token pro-PRC "supporters"

9. And they failed, miserably.
If the Chinese government (and their business partners) failed in their media campaign in San Francisco, they are screwn.

10. I was surprised to read there WERE pro-PRC supporters!
But I think you're right -- the article I read cited the large Chinese community from which to gather "their side". I got the impression it was a little more than "token" in numbers, though. They bussed them in.

it'll go out in my window proudly being displayed, over my wife's objections.

17. Agent Mike, he was...
MY BOYFRIEND!!

I had to go hear the song, "Stop, Hey What's that sound" and all I could find were really pretty bad videos, but if anyone wants to hear it...just don't watch, merely listen.

I hope Agent Mike didn't get to this one.

So, are you saying the link in your OP works for you? It could be me. Mike is all up in my computer. He visits me through the Election reform Forum. :-)

19. There is a dead link up there.
I'm ignoring it and hoping it will feel shunned and just move on to greener pastures all by itself. :)

There will be a bunch of great images but I noticed earlier today that they are very slow to be posted. :tinfoilhat:

18. I have a bunch of my own but having trouble uploading.
Something happened here today. It wasn't just protest as usual. They made City Hall move and change their plans -- even though, the city stood to make $ from the tourists coming to see the run.

That's pretty cool. :loveya:

21. GREAT PICS
i have been saying that it's just people around the world who do these protests that will do a lot more to bring attention to the issue of human rights in China than whether any politician attends the event.
