Got a flash of insight @ McCain on the way to work this morning |
|
As I drove along in my semi-trance-like state, the news mentioned McCain. I wasn't really listening closely, I just heard the announcer mention his name.
That's when the thought popped into my head, that he wouldn't be the Repub nominee. It hit me that they are propping him up to "look like" it, but something will happen & they will slide someone else in at the last minute.
I put NOTHING past them. I suspect he might have an "accident" or some type of health problem. Since we Dems are expecting to run against him, it will throw our game off. (They think.)
They'll slide someone in in the 11th inning and we'll have little time to mount a campaign against them.
Many Repubs don't like McCain, anyway, & those will be so excited that he is not their nominee, that they will rally around the "new" candidate.
Just thought I'd share this with y'all.
Anyone else have similar feelings?

1. That would be political suicide for them |
|
I mean, do they have anybody better than McCain (realistically)? I don't think that they do. Also, scrapping the candidate that people have become comfortable with at the last minute and replacing him/her with an unknown quantity makes people uneasy. That's why, for example, John Ashcroft's loss to Jean Carnahan was such a shock.

3. I feel certain they will have a "good reason" for this i.e. health problem. |
|
I just wonder if he'll be able to make it thru the campaign, let alone 4 years after. He makes so many blunders now. The Christian Fundies do NOT like him & Repubs, in general, are not rallying around him like they usually do with their candidate. Some of them think he IS political suicide for their party; they are already uneasy about HIM.

2. I don't have 'feelings,' |

bit rather suspect they'll be forced to find someone else.
We've seen info about his possible dementia, seriously improper statements to/about his wife, and temper, and I don't think these will stop. My real fear is that they/we'll be stuck with romney.

4. That's who my husband said when |
|
I told him my experience. He thought Romney would be waiting in the wings. I still "feel" it will be someone else. They want to shove someone NEW in that has not already been scrutinized & won't allow us much time to do that hard work.
I think they suspect we might end up w/Gore & they have a similar plan up their sleeves. They never want to be upstaged.
