3. She'd be great.....
..... but I'd hate for her NOT to be in the Senate. She's sorely needed there.

I'm from California too ~ a "big state that counts."

5. I really think the world of Senator Boxer.
Edited on Thu Apr-10-08 07:57 AM by stellanoir
The concern I have is that either way if a Democrat wins we're going to lose one Senator and considering the slim majority in the Senate and the fact that they haven't been able to accomplish squat, can we really afford to lose two? Or do you think we'll gain enough Senators in the fall to compensate overwhelmingly ?

6. She has also been regularly demonized by the RWingers on hate radio.
It would just a one big beat down if she was on the ticket.

We need a fresh, un-demonized Democratic governor on the ticket. Preferably from a state we haven't had in past elections. West or midwest. Kathleen Sebelius comes to mind. Also Janet Napolitano, altho she's gov. of AZ which presents an interesting interplay with MCain...

7. That would kill any hopes of the dem candidate in reality terms
Boxer is too well known, and the opposition will capitalize on it.

8. Boxer elevates and brightens anything she's involved with.
The neocons would hate her guts. They hate her guts now, for that matter. She would frighten the Hannity-types. But I'd show up at the polls still earlier to vote for any ticket she's part of.

No. I don't want Sen. Arnold.
If Boxer were to become VP .... which would be great .... the down side is that Arnie would appt himself to her seat. No thanks.

10. come on...
it's never going to happen. First, we have a Republican governor who would appoint her replacement, so that rules her out immediately.

Second, she adds nothing electorally. She's a 68 year old jewish liberal from Marin. That's not going to help in any swing state.

I love her to death and have voted for her every time she's been on the ballot, but she's just not going to be VP.

11. governor of arizona
"Governor Napolitano leadership has expanded to outside our state’s boundaries. She recently concluded her term as the first woman and first Arizonan chosen to chair the National Governors Association where her groundbreaking Innovation America platform will continue to move forward.
.
Chosen by Time Magazine as one of America’s Top Five Governors, Janet Napolitano’s hallmark is common sense – she does what makes sense and what work

Prior to her election as Governor, Napolitano served as U.S. Attorney for Arizona and as Arizona’s first female Attorney General"

12. How about Wesley Clark?
He would bring the national security experience necessary to
balance the ticket. I also heard he's damn smart, a Rhodes
Scholar or something. Not sure about that. I know he's a
Clinton supporter, but I'm sure he would be more than willing
to serve in an Obama administration. James Webb is another
one that would balance the ticket - though we would lose him
as a Senator.

15. Actually, sound quite good.
I've only seen oblique references to her. Sounds like an honest person and relatively free from the corporate whoredom to which so many others have succumbed.
