Right-to-work closer to ballot
Proponents deliver their petitions to the secretary of state a day early
By Joanne Kelley, Rocky Mountain News

A right-to-work ballot measure cleared another obstacle Wednesday as backers turned in almost twice as many signatures as needed to put the controversial issue on the ballot in November.

Delivering nearly two dozen boxes of petitions a day ahead of schedule, supporters of the initiative sent a clear signal they intend to press ahead with their campaign to outlaw arrangements that require nonunion workers to pay union fees if they are covered by collective-bargaining agreements.

"This is an exciting day for Colorado," brewery heir Jonathan Coors, a key proponent, said in a statement. "This amendment will give Colorado workers the freedom to decide for themselves whether or not to join a union and protect the rights of all employees in the state."

Labor proponents note that Colorado law already requires workers to vote on whether they approve of the types of arrangements that the right-to-work measure seeks to eliminate.

1. typica
It's typical of "heirs" to want to suppress the working woman and keep food from her family.

4. YAY! FREEDOM!!!! I WANT FREEDOM AND RIGHTS!!!1!!!
Did that legislation use the word RIGHT?! Well, heck, I want rights! I certainly don't want to lose my right to work! That nice Coors man also used the word FREEDOM. I want freedom! I'm angry at all those unions for taking away our freedom to choose freedom and our right to choose rights. Besides, unions are mean. They want us to fight. Everybody who went to kindergarten knows that fighting is bad. Like my boss always says, those who are rowing the boat are too busy to rock it! That's why he gives me the freedom to work 12 hour days with no health insurance. For the sake of the company's security--and that's job security to me--he wants to make sure we're always rowing all the time so that no one has the energy to rock 'our' boat.

I agree with Rights and Freedom just like I agreed with "No Child Left Behind" and "The Clean Air Act". I don't want my children left behind! Or stinky air!

I hate libruls because they are against freedom and rights. The stuff they make up never uses these very important words. They hide stuff in big, snooty language. Like the SCHIP bill. I heard that meant State Children's Health Insurance Protection. I personally, don't know any "state children." It sounds like a plot for the libruls to steal our kids and make them 'state children.'

And then there's the FISA bill. The damn libruls are already taking FISA out of my paychecks! Look here, it says Social Security, Medicare, and FISA. (Hmm, stupid libruls spelled it FICA on here. Dummies don't even know how to use the English language proper.)

I hope all those who are trying to steal our freedom, our rights, our liberty, our flag, and our children will be struck dead by God. I don't want my kids left behind in a state-run gay muslim abortionarium while I'm so rightsless and unfree that I can't make enough money to buy a gun to rescue them.

the only outliers I see are KY and MT: Red but no RTW (doubtless due to the miners in MT). Every Blue (as opposed to "purple" swing states like FL, NM, AZ) rejects RTW.

This can't be good. :scared:

edit: Bright Red AK has no RTW either.
