bu$h* “Iran makes the wrong choice — America will be act to protect our interests......
i'm afraid he's gonna do it

Bush Defies Calls for Faster Withdrawal of Iraq Troops

He declared that the Iranian government faced a choice: to live peacefully with Iraq to continue its interference on behalf of Shiite groups. That interference, he said, including arming, financing and training of “illegal militant groups” in Iraq. “If Iran makes the right choice, America will encourage a peaceful relationship between Iran and Iraq,” he said. “Iran makes the wrong choice — America will be act to protect our interests and our troops and our Iraqi partners.”

1. we need to get the Dems (ALL OF THEM) to say that he has no power to attack
Iran and they will immediately throw him out of office if he does something without Congressional consent.

And WE need to be prepared to do what we need to do in the event that this happens.

4. Biden has said if he tries to go into Iran
without Congressional approval (which I don't think he'd ever get at this time), he would use the all the power of his position as Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations committee to 'strongly encourage' (my words) Congress to impeach. He has said it forcefully - and more than once. And I don't think he's the only one who feels that way.

I think if he made such a move, all the Dems would be up in arms and hollering off with his head, IMO.

8. sorry, got a really bad cold and my head isn't too clear
what i was trying to say was that i know bu$h* wouldn't ask congress for anything. if bu$h* strikes iran, i believe it will be with air strikes that he could call up at any time.

biden wouldn't have time to do anything other than encourage impeachment at that point. meanwhile we would have started a hellish war....would congress impeach a president at that time? that's what i was trying to ask.

hope that makes some sense....? :hi:

12. Got it.
And I've always felt the same way -- that Bush wouldn't "ask" Congress -- especially since Kyl-Lieberman passed.

If that did happen, I'd hope that Congress would haul him out of there in shackles -- fuck impeachment hearings. Nice fantasy.

Hope you feel better -- I feel for ya.

2. Yikes.
When the NIE was released I thought that would take the wind out of their sails. Since the investigation of that has never materialized and it's died a quick death, he seems to be free to whip up the winds coming from a different direction.

During the SFRC hearings, I can't count how many times Iran was mentioned. And Lieberman was stoking the fires during the SAFC hearings, too.

10. The Shiite group the Iranians support most is . . ..
. . . the very same crooked government the Bushies are trying to keep propped up.

Bush's Middle East policy doesn't even make the slightest sense to a nominally sane person.
