Bigot Monique Davis apologizes to Rob Sherman - one down, 3 million to go
That's right - an estimated 3,000,000 atheists, agnostics, freethinkers, and allied nontheists across America. So Illinois state representative Monique Davis apologized to Sherman and only to Sherman. So what? Big deal.

Here's her remarks to Sherman as an atheists, just as a recap:

What you have to spew and spread is extremely dangerous...it's dangerous for our children to even know that your philosophy exists! This is the Land of Lincoln where people believe in God...You have no right to be here! We believe in something. You believe in destroying! You believe in destroying what this state was built upon!

Rep. Davis needs to apologize to all of Rob Sherman's fellow atheists. On her knees. Now.

1. Theres far more than 3 million.
there are 300 million Americans.Estimates show that athiests vary from 4 percent to 15 percent depending on the definition. So thats 12 million to 45 million.

I don't care if there's 45 million, 12 million, 3 million, or only 300. Are they entitled to their rights or not?

I see where you're going, but my wife still doesn't have her apology from Davis yet.

4. Well Im an atheist also.

I will say what she said was incredibly stupid. I even found it ironic how she ranted about how atheists dont care about children bringing guns into schools considering I once reported to the police a kid who posted a threat online that he was gonna do a school shooting. She apologized and I will wait and see if she lives by it.

I do feel that these overly religous people like her have a severe fear. ANytime I get into a debate with a fundamentalist Christian it always comes down to one question. Are you afraid of burning in hell forever? Its that fear that leads people to act irrationally like she did, because she knows atheists dont have to live with that same fear.

3. You know what bothers me the most about this?
Edited on Thu Apr-10-08 09:38 PM by MadMaddie
She is an African American woman who obviously has achieved great success. Considering her age she grew up in a time when blacks were not allowed to even participate in high positions like the one she holds.

The obvious blatent racial hatred was justifiied by so called Christians using the Bible to support their beliefs.

So my point is she has become the hater and the bigot and I am guessing she like others like her don't even get it.

It's really a pathetic thing to observe. She does owe an apology to all atheists and all religions that are not the same as hers.
